"Actually, Robertsmith you win a bottle a Swiss Lebleu #'s 1, 2, 3, 2.5, and 13." If you thought that bad batch of #2 sent a lot of folks to the hospital, just wait until you try lucky #13. |

Nolan's style of writing is similar to Betty's. Crosby may be on to something. Nolan are you Betty? I hope not. I like Betty and would hate to think that she would stoop to the level of writing fake reviews for products she sells. |

does anyone other than Betty use the word elixir in regards to absinthe? Anyway, who cares. Her reviews are pretty accurate and the products are consistent at least... Whats more important anyway, the Absinthe or the person who sells it? |

FWIW, if you want to try this stuff: http://www.absint-shop.com/shop/. I received an email from Jens, the guy who runs this site, saying he now carries it. At Euro 37.50 plus shipping, it's a damn sight cheaper than from Betina/Nolan/Betty. I've ordered from him a couple of times to get brands not available at SC with no problems. Typical German shipping though, about a month. Harry |

This new offering from Pernod is interesting. It seems that all the herbs are used in a manner in which they blend together with the alcohol, right up front. Then the anis comes through, but is well done and not overpowering. It seems to me that many of the herbs that are used in Chartreuse are also present in this new Pernod. There is a definite alpine herbal after taste. Very nice. This one tops most Spanish and is even a little better than La Fee. There is,also, a nice citrus quality that lingers for a moment in the swallow. While new Pernod can be drunk without sugar, I feel that it is one of the few modern recreations that is actually complemented by the addition of a suger cube. When poured and then letting the water drip into a nice vintage glass and with vintage spoon one can let the imagination travel back to the turn of century,ah,the Green Hour!! The color is a pale green and the louche looks almost like vintage Pernod. I personally feel that this absinthe is a nice addition to my collection of modern absinthes.Got to be a little careful with this new Pernod however. The herbs give a sense of clear headedness, but it should be remembered that this elixir is almost 140 proof. A fine job was done with the new Pernod 68. |
