Kevin Costner tried to cash in on the Tombstone action, but failed.

Why do they keep letting Costner make movies? I can count the good movies he's been in on one hand, and the good movies he's produced or directed on my middle finger.

Magnolia was beautifully made -- with the caveat that someone has to please let me strangle Julianne Moore someday. An evil dream, but a dream nonetheless.

I liked Gosford Park; kinda a chick movie though, maybe that's why.

Has anyone seen Funny Games? It was big on IFC for a while.

Speaking of Altman, I hated Gosford Park. Bored to tears...I think Vincent & Theo is the best thing Altman ever did...brilliant! Now they just need to release it on DVD!!!

Have you seen Hard Eight, Marc? It's my personal favorite PTA flick, and the DVD's got extras a'plenty...

I dug MAGNOLIA. Director pt. anderson juggles stories and characters as deftly as Tarantino and Altman. Its a pretty accomplished movie for a man who was only 26 when he directed it.

For a change of pace.. Tombstone with Kurt Russell & Val Kilmer. I thought was a good movie. Kevin Costner tried to cash in on the Tombstone action, but failed..

That sounds like a similar concept to PAYBACK, which I just watched on TV the other day. Perhaps Mel and his crew stole the idea. I didn't want to like the movie, but I did anyway.

To scoot this yere thread back on topic (gods forbid...)

Any of you good folks see a Danish flick called Pusher?

A tense, claustrophobic drama. Recently released on DVD. The lead actor does an incredible job as a character you shouldn't root for, but end up doing so anyway.

True, but nothing beats a Stubbly Monkey.

Elmo the muppet testified before Congress.

I'm not fucking kidding either.

And Nevada chose as their state emblem for the license plate- a mushroom cloud.

Wishing my order would come in so I could drink away the Impending Doom feeling, but at the same time so vastly, vastly amused by the state of the world today I can't help but grin like a madman whenever it occurs to me.

Monkeys ARE good. Shaving them first is best. That way you can skip the whole scalding/defurring process, and plop them right into the deep fryer. Actually, I like to dunk them in egg yolks and roll them in a flour/cajun spice mix before frying for a little extra zing.

Mr. Rabbit, meanwhile, is an undisputed genius.

M'sieur, you never once slip
Despite that split rabbit lip
Your grammar is flawless
Your word choice meticulous
The boisterous prissies
you render ridiculous
I prostrate before
Your verbal resolve
And hope that I'll into
a rabbit evolve.
