"I don't think it works that way. I know the seasons are reversed, but it's still May, which is "Beltane" or "Beathaine" "

Hi BJ- true- but you know what I meant in a seasonal sense.....the "mainstream" practice down under is to reverse the names as well....hey, we're upside down with the blood rushing to our heads...don't blame us!

Actually, as far as I am concerned, the 'celtic' wheel of the year has no real applicability down here in Australia anyway, too many different microclimates nationally....

I don't think it works that way. I know the seasons are reversed, but it's still May, which is "Beltane" or "Beathaine" in Gaelic (and is pronounced "BEL-tin-uh" or "BYAHL-hin-yuh" depending on the dialect), and "Samhain" (SAH-win) means "November".

Whatever the season my friends, embrace the heretic within I say.......

Oh, do not tell the Pope our plight, Or he would call it a sin;
But we have been out in the woods all night, A-conjuring Summer in!

And the head of the CDF, Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, is a complete reactionary, and is considered to be on the short-list to be the next pope...

We just need a good inquisition again.

A Pagan roast with some Hebrews boiled in taters on the side.

Funny factoid. The inquisition was never stopped, only the name was changed. It is now known as the "Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith." The only difference is that they can't declare an "ecclesia Millitans (Church Millitant)".

heh, I already sent this to a couple folks here, but it bears repeating...

this news item tickled me:

http://www.cnn.com/2002/US/04/30/pagans.vs.christians.reut/index.html

not for the controversy, but for the pagans sacrificing chocolate bunnies and then dipping the phallic pretzel stick into the goddess' dark primordial, finger lickin' good, goo.

Happy Walpurgisnacht!
