I saw ATTACK OF THE CLONES. It is genuinely wretched. Joyless, formulaic garbage. |

IRC? hmm... I would have thought usenet or something of that ilk... oh well, not at home anyway right now and I can never find an excuse to sit down long enough to watch a movie anyway, at least a movie I don't have to fast forward through to get to the good parts... (Sponsered by Astroglide.com) |

IRC, where you been? Where you could onyl get mp3's before people knew about them. Still the hookup there... As for me, im pretty fucking anti-social, and don't go to theaters anyway, so i don't feel bad downloading movies. Now, if it's a movie i really like, like requiem for a dream, or memento, i BUY it. Support the good stuff, watch the tripe and questionable movies for free. |

"Downloading compressed low res versions of new releases is like drinking Absente and acting like you know something about absinthe." Actually downloading compressed low res versions of new releases is just being cheap and utilizing existing technology to rip off the man... what it has to do with acting like you know something about anything is a pretty strange analogy if you ask me... anyway, who really cares, eh fucko? I just want free stuff, regardless of my obfuscatious ways... |

I think people downloading movies online sucks. It's the equivalent of downloading 2 inch by 3 inch jpegs of Jackson Pollacks paintings so you don't have to go the museum to see it. It's not the real thing. The most important part of the film experience is seeing it projected on a huge screen and seeing the highest possible quality image and hearing the sound in the full glory that the director intended. Downloading compressed low res versions of new releases is like drinking Absente and acting like you know something about absinthe. I have no problem with sharing everything online, including copyrighted material, but anyone who relies on their poxy 17 inch computer screen and crappy stereo speakers to judge a film is a fool. I certainly don't think online film downloading will hurt the motion picture industry any more than napster has hurt the music industry, but I don't give a fuck about the industry, I care about the art, and anybody who's online trading their DV cam recorded mpeg compressed mono version of Episode II is a leech.... Thats not to say that that person won't also go see the film in the theater, but why would anyone want to watch a poop quality version of a movie which you can see in great quality for $10 or less? Save the online downloading for pornos... |

It was much better than episode 1. I downloaded it like 4-5 days ago. Im not a hardcore starwars person, and I don't want to spoil it... but yoda rocks! hehehe Also, i hear people are mad at anakin, many didn't like his character. Uh... remember, he IS Darth Vader. You aren't supposed to like him. He isn't the cute kid from EP1 anymore, he is an arrogant asshole. They are doing a cool job fleshing him out, and you start to dislike, but understand him. Cool stuff, plus jar jar doesn't really say much, i was surprised and happy! |

I downloaded a copy (yeah, George Lucas owes me $7 from the last one) but I haven't gotten around to watching it. If it doesn't suck too much, I may try to catch it at the Uptown. Even crap is enjoyable on a screen that big. |

You're beginning to sound like, in Robertsmith's words, "all the fucking geeks there". Never mind; the same thing happened when "The Lord of the Rings" came out. So it was good, was it? Please don't give too much away ... episode II won't arrive in Chile for another month or so. |

yeah, I read a lot of those about the starcrusher or whatever it was called. pretty cool. I'm so happy that Ep II didn't suck though. The romantic scenes are lame, but that's no different from any of the other SW films. Wait till you see Yoda whip out the light saber though, HOLY FUCKING SHIT! |

I'm going to see it Tuesday I think... I have some of the books that are supposed to be after Return of the Jedi... Not bad for Sci Fi books. |

Anybody here seen it yet? I was totally blown away by it. Light years ahead of Episode 1. the funniest thing was seeing all the fucking geeks there. I heard one of them say "wow, he's such a loudmouth on the Jedi forum, but he's quiet in person", and I heard one jedi say to a storm trooper, "I expected you to be much taller from how you sounded online." I was just relieved to find that there are forumites out there who are bigger losers and gayer than we are. At least we're obsessed with something real! These guys get dressed up for a fucking fantasy story! Anyway, though Episode 2 was absolutely amazing and I'll see it probably 4 more times at least. And you must see it in Digital projection if there's one near you. the Starwars.com site shows the theaters in your area that are showing it in digital picture.... May da schwartz be wit you! |
