I wonder if the word stems from the greek word for to release or excrete...

Yup, that's exactly it. It refers to the opening of the pelvis, where the various tubes and such "empty out", and thus to the corresponding external area.

"Yet you're still in the Monkey Hole aren't you?"

Well, it ain't about absinthe, and it ain't philosophic. So, in a way, my project is taint.

I don't understand this three tiered forum anyhow. I am too set in my ways to change..

THE BOOK OF WOOFIE DEFINES PERINEUM AS:

"Dee perineum is dee ah, "um"
(the guttural pause), dat
comes after a long year of
trying to figure out what ta
say next."

I have never heard it referred to as "taint" before. Hehe. That's too funny.

In Kundalini yoga, it's the root chakra (muladhara is the Hindu word). There was some Jungian psychologist who once correlated the seven chakras and Kundalini workings to the seven stages of transmutation of metals in alchemical texts -- so as I know I've seen you discuss alchemical texts at great length, perhaps you might start referring to it by the first stage of the transmutation of metals (which would be what, btw?)

In modern Western medicine, Louis XIV (the Sun King) is "credited" with "discovering" women had a perineum, too. He found it one day when he decided to watch his mistress give birth.

Such a curious little Sun King.

"I have been working on something much
more exciting than any orifice, entrail,
or release of mucus combined."

Yet you're still in the Monkey Hole aren't you?

It's ok. You don't have to kiss and tell.

not bloody likely, although I did see Quills this weekend (Thanks goodness for creatures like Amelia Warner who, in some slight way, move me to sordid thoughts)

Despite this, I have been working on something much more exciting than any orifice, entrail, or release of mucus combined.

Proper understanding of and attention to the male perineum is one of the key Tantric sex secrets.

Actually, it's an old saying stemming from the rural Acadian region of the south...I think it goes a little something like this:

It + Aint = TAINT

"It Taint yer balls and it Taint yer ass, it's just Taint"
