That would have to be the middle. Since the baby will be half Latin descent, the first name could be Jesus!

My dad's family has Swiss ancestor named Christ Chevalier. This was back in the 18th century; he was a mercenary. Why not name the kid "Christ"?

Well Crowleyman, if you're really into the beast - why not choosing a name like Leah or Edward Alexander?

Let's keep in mind the kid DOES have to go to school and meet OTHER kids some day . . .

Mortimer: Please beat me up and take my lunch money

Woody: Wait til we hit puberty

Anise: Gee, what does THAT sounds like?

Jade makes a purty girl's name, though . . . and there's always Betina!

How about Perry (Pernod)?

Abigail Cynthia? (Ab Cynth)?

Mari Mayans if it's a girl. Hmmm..Kinda works in a strange way!

Woody for a guy. Maybe better as a middle name.

Edouard would be the ultimate absinthe name if it`s a boy.

Alfred if he look fucked up and original.

Ubu could be just perfect if he look a bit dumb and look like a future dictator.

Now if it`s a girl, be a sucker and give her our dear admin`s name !

If it's a girl, Jade.
If it's a boy, Whiz. He'll immediately live up to his name.

from The Sure Thing:

Gib: Elliot? You're gonna name the kid Elliot? No, you can't name the kid Elliot. Elliot is a fat kid with glasses who eats paste. You're not gonna name the kid Elliot. You gotta give him a real name. Give him a name! Like Nick.
Alison: Nick?
Gib: Yeah, Nick! Nick's the kinda guy you can trust. Nick's your buddy. Nick's the kinda guy you drink beers with. The kinda guy that doesn't care if you puke in his car. Nick!

As my family is into genealogy, we traced our name back quite a way and found a great great uncle named CLEOPHUS. From the scribblings of ancestors, he was said to be a very handsome man. This may be considered child abuse, so how about Aleister? (crowley-man)

If she be a lass, how about Rebecca - meaning faithful. Or Haley - heroine, victorious woman.

If its a girl: BERTHA.

If its a boy: CHUCK.

The coolest female name I ever heard is 'Ghanima', from Frank Herbert's made-up Fremen language - meaning 'spoils of war'. I guess how apt it might be would depend on the marriage. I just like the way it sounds and is spelled.

As far as male names go, I don't think you can go wrong with 'Mortimer'.

He mentioned he likes Amelie but couldn't think of a middle, and his wife likes Karina...I was thinking that Amelie Karina sounded pretty good. Also maybe a little to commonplace but Joy flows pretty well with Amelie (as in Amelie Joy).

From the one with no kids (but a number of pets with unusual names),

Crowlyman is expecting a baby in February! Gender is still TBA. On a previous post he and I were batting around some ideas for names. He is in a quandry as to good names. Let's see what we can do. Boy or girl, absinthe themed or not. Let's have at it!
