The winner of Head's "Pernod bottle" auction seems to be an interesting character. Some other auctions he/she has won:

"And folks thought my auction
was a rip off... Ha!"

Mark was ready to fork out some beans for a true piece of Head member-abilia.

Did anyone here notice that one of Jabi's past auction winners calls himself/herself "Buttina"?

He took it in the shorts on his feedback too.

It's probably the same bottle. The last buyer might have been clued in that he was being taken for a short ride and didn't complete the transaction.

Frenchman Phil, a former seller of absinthe collectibles online, bought the Butterfly Absinthe bottle.

I was wondering about that butterfly
bottle last night. If it was one of
those "evil" brands that brought
down the great house of Absinthe...

I'm curious if anyone in this forum won the Butterfly Absinthe and if so have they tasted or smelled) the contents. If it actually was absinthe, a review of a vintage American brand would be pretty interesting.

Suffering Is An Empty Bottle of Modern Pernod

by

Head_prosthesis

Oh grand façade
You've come to me again

Wrapped in green glass
and screw top cap

I marvel at your libelous label
for you are not what you once were

As I am not, once a star
now a sad inibriated toy

My emptiness echoed
in your hollow shell

Discarded and lost
to the folly of excess!

...I FAINT!

...I die!

"IT HAD BEEN ON A SHELF AT THE BEER DEPOT FOR YEARS UNTIL I GOT MY HOT LITTLE MITTENS ON IT!!!!"

I'm not familiar with Beer Depot. Is that an MI. thing? Whoever named it has a lot in common, creatively, with the proprietor of this fine establishment. I drank my lunch there one day in Paris.

While we're all drooling over Head's bottle(s) -- why not bid on Head's biography?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1973921706

"Biography of August Dupuis, 'Pere Yakouba' [which means 'Head Prosthesis' in Timbuctese], of the Augustinian missionary order of the Peres Blancs (White Fathers), who drank absinthe like water, abandoned his robes and European customs and went native in Timbuctoo, marrying, fathering a brood of 30 children and becoming the patriarchal father of a tribe."
