Whatever. The Mayor changes
his mind more often than his
underwear. That is "when" he wears underwear...

SpitoonBoy sez:
"I think Head said this is the official "eye-opener" absinthe?"

As the inventor of said libation, I can tell you there is no "official" absinthe for it. It is more the state of mind that you are drinking absinthe for b'fast that matters more than the actual brand. Crosby is very fond of Lars And? in his cuppa joe.

OK, I had a glass of the Alpes stuff. Crosby is (of course) accurate. It tastes EXACTLY like Ricard, except with a slightly bitter addition. Since I like Ricard, not too bad!

Alpes - Tastes like eel. Hahahaha...

Actually I thought it was quite drinkable.
And chugable and downable and mixable and
loveable.

I give it a 3 on the 5 bar Serpometer.

I got 3 new absinthes from Alandia which I hadn't tried before:

Larsand: It tastes just like NS to me, which is to say I'll drink it if there's nothing else but I'm not thrilled, and I probably won't get it again. I think Head said this is the official "eye-opener" absinthe?

Alpes stuff: haven't really tasted it yet (but Head did).

Jean Boyer "abisinthe": I thought this stuff was yummy. It has a spicy taste that reminds me of Bardouin pastis, and the melissa is prominent (according to Kallisti), reminiscent of Versinthe. I will get this one again. (OK, cue Ted to pop in and say it doesn't have any A. absinthum?)
