Well, its more complicatd than that. Up until this ruling, sodomy (gay or straight), including oral, anal, and any combination thereof, was a felony here. Just plain doin' it was only a misdemeonor, if the participants were of-age, unmarried, and of the opposite sex. While I suspect the fornication law would not survive judicial review, nobody has really challenged it. Also, as recently as 1991, it was a felony to "seduce and have carnal knowlege of a woman of previously chaste character" unless you were married.
Virginia just doesn't want ANYTHING other than vanilla genital penetration between married adults. They'd probably ban female orgasms if they knew they existed...
(You can avoid prosecution for fucking a 14-year-old if you marry her, though...)
