I like to keep you guessing.

Still, if anyone can give a serious answer, be my guest.

I've never gotten an answer to this question: Is the modern Oxygenée "absinthe" produced by Pernod-Ricard really oxygenated? I could swear that I see tiny air bubbles in my bottle, but it may just be wishful thinking.

I've never found any French ones. There are stereoviews of the Old Absinthe House of course.

Yes, I know the small text on some of the pricelist and postcard photos is a problem, but I wanted to keep the file sizes down so the pages aren't too slow to load. I will however be adding larger, easier to read versions of all "text" photos, accessible by thumbnail, within the next week.

The Oxygenee card is particularly interesting, because its the first contemporary source I've seen explaining exactly what an "Absinthe Oxygenee" was.

It would also be nice to have a better scan of the Oxygene post card and other pictures with small texts. As it is, it is very difficult to read even if we enlarge the jpg.

From what I could read, it seems they where really blowing oxygen in their absinthe...That was a very explosive process ! The real goal was probably just to accelerate aging (oxydation...).

I've been working on expanding and enhancing the site over the last few days, so as Head guessed, that's why it has been down. New pictures have been added, and I've moved all the pages fully across to: www.oxygenee.com, (previously most were at another domain location, so you need to update your bookmarks). Everything should work perfectly now - let me know if you find any missing pictures or links. I'll be making further improvements over the next week or two as well.

Given the perfect condition of the bottle, this Premier Fils must taste amazing. Too bad you where unable to obtain at least two bottles from this case, it would have been esier to justify yourself into opening one and keeping the other intact...

If you ever taste it, please share pictures and review.

No, no amazing story I'm afraid, but it was originally part of a perfect undisturbed case, the rest of which the original owner has decided to retain. I certainly wouldn't "pop the cork" (at least not while sober), but I may decide to draw a sample via hypodermic at some stage in the future, although I've hesitated so far to do this, because the seal is so pristine.

Is there any amazing story behind your acquiring of the vintage Premier Fils Bouteille? And have you ever thought about popping the cork to taste it's contents?

This member of "the tiny minority", at least, likes your website very much. I'm always surprised by what you dig up. And it's good to know that these discoveries are in the right hands.

For the tiny minority who might be interested, I've expanded and upgraded my absinthiana website - www.oxygenee.com - many new items, and hopefully improved navigation. As always any feedback on broken links, typos, particularly comical spelling mistakes, poor grammar, misattributions, obvious fakes listed as genuine etc etc would be very welcome.
