This would all be clearer is English had an aorist tense.

(Makes me wish I'd begged for samples of the prototypes back in the day, tho...)

Even if I knew what the status of the Jade project was, I would not say anything about it, because anything I had been told about it by the principals would have certainly been under the condition that I keep it confidential.

That being said, I have been told nothing about it by either Don or Ted or anybody else for over a year. That is why I put it in the past tense. For me, knowledge of that project is in the past. I'm not even curious about it, to be honest. It's something I've put behind me. Everybody else should do the same - that way, if it ever comes to pass, they'll be pleasantly surprised. If it doesn't, well no big deal, because you've forgotten about it, right?

Artemis, I'm sure you won't be surprised to hear that I've picked up on your use of the past tense: "was".

Is this indicating that you -- like the rest of us -- don't know if the Jade enterprise "is" or ever "will be"? Or do you know something that we don't: that Jade is (temporarily?) "dead in the water"?

Or perhaps the answer must be: "no comment"?

"I know for a fact that Don Walsh is aware of the methodology involved in Product Category Number 1"

I meant that he knows how to make "Swiss" absinthe.

"and was, for some time, well versed in it and putting it into play"

I meant that he was busy doing the above in the past, but I no longer know what he's doing. He may be doing it, he may not be - I just don't know, because I no longer have knowledge of his activities.

"in products that were intended some day to go commercial."

I meant that the commerical aspirations for the product in question were legitimate and on the level. I was trying to counter inferences here by some people that "Jade" was all smoke and mirrors, because I know it was not.

The following is a quote from Artemis which I unearthed from an old thread back in April...

"I know for a fact that Don Walsh is aware of the methodology involved in Product Category Number 1, and was, for some time, well versed in it and putting it into play in products that were intended some day to go commercial."

Does this mean Don is no longer involved with Jade Liqueurs?

All I can add here would be to simply repeat the following as posted by "Lediablevert":

"On a lighter note, though, I think that we should all just stop worrying about Jade right now in the first place. If and when Ted releases it, I have no idea, and I don't think any of us do. Not even Ted. Let's just wait and let Ted surprise us."

Heh. A shutting the fuck up we will go....

Ok. I promised head I wouldn't fly off the fuck handle again. On a lighter note, though, I think that we should all just stop worrying about Jade right now in the first place. If and when Ted releases it, I have no idea, and I don't think any of us do. Not even Ted. Let's just wait and let Ted surprise us. Forget all about Jade if you can. It might make your first legal glass taste even better.
