Well it was going to be Thailand, then Laos, maybe Cambodia is next.

BTW last year Don said it was going to be $75 a bottle.

But if you really want Jade I guess you can still go to the Chateau Jade and get some. You would even get to be tied up by Thais girls and whipped. Sounds like a good Honeymoon spot for anyone on this board who might be thinking of getting married. A nice bed and bondage inn with absinthe. Could it get anymore romantic?

As I always understood it, Ted was R&D and Don was production, and I think Czech would be a pretty lousy commute from Thailand.

The last word regarding price, which had to have been more than a year ago, was that Jade would cost between $80 and $100. But at this point, who knows?

As I said in the louche lounge,
which is obviously where the extremely
weird, psychopathic, trolls like me belong,
do you think Ted might have any luck
trying to distill Jade in Czech?

Also, is there any word yet on pricing
for Jade? Will it cost more or less
than a bottle of bootlegged La Bleue?

King Head International Version

Jade 8

18 "Why didst thou bring me forth from the cauldron? Would that I had tailed before any man had sipped me,
19 and were as though I had not been, carried from the kettle to the sink.
20 Are not the days of my life few? Let me alone, that I may find a little market
21 before I go whence I shall not return, to the land of red tape and bureacracy,
22 the land of Hills and Deva, where louche is as empyreuma."

It is their business, and the delays have been harder on them than on anyone else. But when you believe in someone or something, it's a hell of a strain to have that belief tested again and again.

I have tried a sample of Jade, and I enjoyed it more than any other absinthe I've tasted. I can't afford to pay for Logan Fils or the Moonman's efforts. I seem to recall Ted or Don writing that Jade would be in the $80-$90 range. That's the upper limit for me these days, but I can still swing it. The question is, should I continue to believe it?

Funny thing is...

It's Don and Ted's business
(for lack of a better word)

Yet it sounds as though some folks
are feeling betrayed or something.

So it was announced prematurely,
several times. So what?
There's plenty of other things to
enjoy in the meantime.

Like me.

I'm still betting there is a better chance of AbsAuth coming to market before we ever see Jade. At least I can obtain test samples of the Moon-man's efforts.

''AbsAuth is on the way''

Wow, hold on !

So far, ''Moonman`s Absintheauthentique'' is just like any other LaBleu micro-scale bootleg . No official date have been given for the simple reason that it is impossible to foresee any dates about someting that greatly depend on the colaboration of bureaucrats and governments officials.

From what Moonman told me, I understand that the road from finding the hundreds of thousands of dollars capital to selling the first bottle is long, very long. Jade is about two years ahead on this road (even if we have no idea at what pace they are walking).

Let`s also not forget about aging time of those products...

I know that, Lord H, and I've shared your views on it for a long time. But somehow, that doesn't make things better. The problem is that we were told that Jade would go public at such-and-such a time, and then it didn't. Which is fine -- except that this has happened at least three times.

You must understand that I've been "a true believer" in BEL and have never hesitated to defend Ted and Don when it seemed right to do so. Hence this latest delay is especially frustrating to me. I don't like doubt knocking at my door.

Ted is pursuing the right course by not elaborating. I hope that Don adopts the same strategy.

You can't miss what you haven't experienced and if you have experienced it then you should be grateful you were given a free tasting of it.

It's up to the owners and makers of Jade (i.e. Ted and Don) to decide when to launch Jade. It's not like they owe us anything.

Wasn't it suppose to have been out two years ago, or was it three? It's been coming out soon for so long I don't remember. Last I heard they were switching production from Thailand to Laos.

I think they are waiting to release it for the 100th anniversary of its being banned in France. So be patient because I'm, sure it will be for sale on March 16, 2015. Unless of course it's delayed again for reasons Ted won't elaborate on.

Well, let's see ... Don once insisted that Jade would definitely, absolutely come out in February of this year.

Then, a post by Don in a bulletin board mentioned that Jade would appear in the middle of this year.

And now, the word "this year" seems to have disappeared from BEL's vocabulary.

I do believe that Jade will eventually hit the market. And I've been very patient about the wait. But it's beginning to wear on me ...

Metro Spirit magazine article on absinthe (July 3-9):

"[Ted Breaux] was set to start production in Thailand on his own line of absinthe, under the name Jade Liqueurs, although he said things temporarily have been put on hold.
