Sorry, typo. Their label is called 'Sellout'. Ripoff is a shop that stocks their stuff occasionally. My bad.

LOL... I know. It's Chicks On Speed, an electronic outfit I love. They also run their own fashion house, Ripoff. Alex, the blonde one, is from Bowral in rural NSW (the other two are from the US and Germany), and we met when I styled a photo shoot with them for Bent magazine. They rock hard.

I dunno. Neither Carfax nor I took any piccies (unfortunately). Mind you, by the end of the evening I was hardly capable of operating any sort of electronic device. Finding my pocket was difficult enough...

Kallisti, I'll do one better... I'll see if I can't get Carfax back on here to tell you himself.

We both went to the Pernod absinthe launch here a while ago, and though there was the usual flaming sugar cubes and other such nonsense, we had a great night. It was held at hemmesphere, one of our most exclusive cocktail bars (full of divans, chaise lounges and table lamps, very belle epoch), and the waitresses were laced and coiffured, so the atmosphere was great. They even brought in a pseudo-french street quartet for the evening. I think the highlight of the night was getting a look at the new absintheware Pernod had made for the rollout. Repro les fleches (if I remember correctly) and pontarlier-esque glasses. God I love well presented artifice...

I haven't ordered from LDF yet, but the boys will be hearing from me this week, methinks...

I didn't know Frenchman Phil was in on the Un Emile thing, although I'm not surprised. He knows his stuff.

Yay! Welcome back Midas Maxwell!

Andy has obsconded, Vera is on hiatus but has popped her wee head in here on rare occasion and Ian is still around, but very busy being Mr. absinthe entrepeneur along with Petermarc & Frenchman Phil at absintheonline.com

SO. Please tell us the glorious details on Carfax's efforts to bring the fairy to Australia!

We're dying to know...

Pimple? Well there was a certain amount of festering and pressure back then. Mind you, mention of the words "secondary", "effect" and "thujone" can still spark a reaction it seems. A certain amount of passion is healthy, and necessary.

Hi guys. I used to be a regular poster on here a couple of years ago. Midas was my handle back then, and after a long abscence (and after much absinthe), I have returned. It's so good to see the board alive and, at first glance, less...um... aggrevated than when I was last here.

In the intervening period absinthe has become available domestically in Australia thanks to the efforts and legislative know-how of Carfax, though most of it is Czech nail polish remover. La Fee and Pernod being the exceptions.

Kallisti tells me she and Head are'a gettin hitched! Congrats guys.

And Don has retreated from the boards too, huh? It must've been soon after Frater Carfax and I visited him in BKK.

No, we did not kill him.

So, who's still here? Andy? Vera? Ian? What have I missed?

And to all the lovelies who have joined since I left... pleased to meet you.

It's nice to be back.

-Robert/Neongreen/Midas/Whatevah.
