Damn, it is so much easier to brew a good HG than to tend al those scams ! ... well, maybe not after all... HEy Opti, For 100K Moonman will teach you some hints ! LOL |

I contacted the bidder who retracted his bid and mentioned that several others had been screwed buying La Bleue bottles with broken seals by Opie/Chuck/Blaine whoever. He wrote back and said he was retracting his bid because he also suspected the seller of being Optimalsmarts. -------------------------------------------------- Gretchen--"Donnie Darko, sounds like some kind of superhero or something" Donnie--"What makes you think I'm not?" |

To which I said- I never contacted eBay. Do what ya want. Maybe I'll ring ya tomorrow. How the heck do you get all these broken seals???? I've only had NONE out of dozens and dozens of bottles.

And here's the response: Look buddy. I don't know who you think I am, but if you look at my selling history and feedback, you will clearly see that I am not the guy you think I am. I am now going to file a formal complaint against you with eBay, because: 1) this is the second time you've harassed me even though you apologized the first time. 2) I am willing to bet that you said something to the bidder on my auction to get them to retract their bid. Harrassment and bid tampering are both against eBay rules and I am sure you think you are valid in harassing the person who you think did these things, but I am not that person.

hrm, looks like he's been going to the Winston abg.com school of business: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=11153&item=2740351419 “A lady who has a secure seat is never prettier than when in the saddle, and she who cannot make her conquest there, may despair of the power of her charms elsewhere.” - THE MANNERS THAT WIN, 1880 http://www.feeverte.net |

Hrm, if you check his new "about me" page: http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/superior-solutions/ it says they're associated with the following company: http://www.321studios.com/contact.htm I suggest someone email the company and find out if this association is an honest one. I don't remember them having an about me page a couple weeks ago when we were checking this out previously. And, of course, here his the ebay ID tracking: *** @aol.com Thursday, Sep 25, 1997 Tuesday, May 04, 1999 nouveautech Tuesday, May 04, 1999 Sunday, Feb 09, 2003 oss-llc Sunday, Feb 09, 2003 Wednesday, Jul 30, 2003 superior-solutions Wednesday, Jul 30, 2003 Present

I have noticed also that folks tend to run the bid up on bottles that can be purchased abroad at sometimes less than half the price. "I'm standing on the corner of fifth and vermouth... using parking meters as walking sticks" Tom Waits |

Good eye. Know who the seller is? OPTIMALSMARTS.com. He's changed his eBay user ID multiple times in the last year. Be afraid, be very afraid. He's used that line "the seal was broken in shipping" before. Um, how exactly does a box open a seal on a bottle? I'm sure the contents of the bottle are NOT Betty's La Bleue, but a not very good mostly anise blanche HG, which was sold alongside his fake Swiss Verte, which was also nothing like Betty's Verte, even though he said it was the same. Stay the fuck away from this criminal.... -------------------------------------------------- Gretchen--"Donnie Darko, sounds like some kind of superhero or something" Donnie--"What makes you think I'm not?" |

I was perusing today's absinthe-related listings on eBay when I came across this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3237686618&category=369. As I looked at the listing, I was wondering who in their right mind would list a bottle of Betty's La Bleue with an opening bid of less than 30 bucks (and no reserve), as I'm sure we are all aware what it must have cost the seller, but as I continued to read the listing, I saw this: SPECIAL NOTE: This bottle's seal was broken during shipment but is otherwise a brand new bottle. What's sad is, this has already been bid on..what's even more sad is that I bet the final bid will end up much higher... I guess there are a lot of poor saps out there...it just makes me all the more grateful I found this forum!! Daniel
