one must take note that like pastis, the grates should be 45° for safety's sake... |

Serious sewer-grate collectors (or sewertheurs as we're known) must of course be eternally grateful for the groundbreaking work of the Delaware Bicycle Council in this field: http://www.deldot.net/static/bike/meetings/2000/minutes_10_4_00.pdf

I hear on the "Winnie Sock Puppet Forum" that they use the "Nasal Fire" method....As demonstrated by Slake.

You guys are ALWAYS in trouble. btw- workin' on that "vomiting milk thru nose" emoticon. Righto. Once saw a drunk on a bus projectile vomit whiskey and, well, vomit thru his nose. he had a good 4 foot squirt going. I never got over the smell of THAT. I decided NOT to become an alcoholic that night.

But the name of the one I have is Fred. When I find another to complete the pair, I will name that one Ethel. "He is an unapologetic, crochety old bastard who will peddle any fibs that will make him a buck, or put him on a pedestal." |

"What is the name of those odd circular spoons?" Those are the famous cuillères circulaires étrange (Koo-yair cir-koo-lair ate-rahnzh). Be sure and ask for them by name when in France (or even Haiti). Legend has it that the design for those came to Henri de Toulouse Lautrec himself as he was contemplating a sewer grate somewhere near Montmarte. Most or all of the repro spoons sold by LdF are Frenchman repros. See link below. "Please pardon our appearance while we are levitating..." |

>"What is the name of those odd circular spoons? you know, the ones which are more like a metal disc, with a pattern cut into them, which were used as absinthe spoons?" You mean the Les Grilles? I've never seen a repro of one, and the antiques are quite pricey. "Please pardon our appearance while we are levitating..." |

Frenchman's repros are far from cheap in quality (although if you buy from him, certainly cheap in price). Most of them are silver plated brass and quite nicely made. They're the nicest repros you're likely to come across. If you don't like those, but an antique from A.O. "Please pardon our appearance while we are levitating..." |

thanks for the links. Found the sites already. What is the name of those odd circular spoons? you know, the ones which are more like a metal disc, with a pattern cut into them, which were used as absinthe spoons? The reproductions seem pretty dull from what i've seen. I don't really want a cheap shiny spoon, seems like I might be out of luck... Thanks for the links so far guys! |

An absinthe spoon? Good luck searching, they're scarce as hell. I heard a rumour that there was one for sale in France last year, but it was snapped up within hours. Perhaps if you went and lived in France or Switzerland for a year or two, you might get lucky. Don't even bother trying online - there's no mention of them on the internet at all (I mean, if you type "absinthe spoons" into Google all you get is 1330 listings, headed up by ABSINTHESPOON.COM and ABSINTHEORIGINALS.COM, so that's certainly no use at all.) |

Well, been a while since i've last had any absinthe. Just made my order. I originally had the lafee spoon, but I'm tired of it. Can anybody post up some links to where I can find some spoons? I did a search, but not much came up |
