Wow, what a trip looking at that earliest batch of posts from the "Absinthe Book"! There are two from me posting as sisyphus2000 on there, back when I was using WebTV (!). I think the one on May 15th, 1998 might be my very first post (post #95). There are a few from Ted on there posting as Antoine Breaux, which I actually remember reading way back when. Some of your posts also sounded familiar, Kallisti. Thank you so much for posting the archive! "Please pardon our appearance while we are levitating..." |

I have a memory like a sieve. I can't recall nuttin', if it weren't for these archives... Head has to remind me "You know, you run this thing, it's called 'The Absinthe Forum'" hehe, I'm serious! “A lady who has a secure seat is never prettier than when in the saddle, and she who cannot make her conquest there, may despair of the power of her charms elsewhere.” - THE MANNERS THAT WIN, 1880 http://www.feeverte.net |

Ha ha! This is great! Am I the only one who remembers the first posting signed "Head Prosthesis"? Who amongst ye shall dethrone me? [My first posting was under another name, too, and thank god. Luckily, it was Ted Breaux who answered my question and very politely, too.] |

ha! *I* don't even remember Head's first post. But I do know he posted for awhile pre-registration under different names. Unfortunately I don't have any pre-registration archives. “A lady who has a secure seat is never prettier than when in the saddle, and she who cannot make her conquest there, may despair of the power of her charms elsewhere.” - THE MANNERS THAT WIN, 1880 http://www.feeverte.net |

You should *definitely* upload the old old archives. The new ones are not adequate. Some of us haven't been around that long, y'know, but don't like asking questions that seem redundant. We could use the information! Please? ;) |

I think we all did that once,........Many Years ago W.C. Fields and John Barrymore were drinking their usual quart of Martini's each,...Barrymore raised his glass and said "To the old days". Fields raised his glass and said "Yes", "May they never come again." "To Better Absinthe".....these are the good old days. I've wrestled with reality for 35 years, and I'm happy to state I've finally won out over it........Elwood. P. Dowd |

I know... I'm going to see if I can clear out some disk space, pair just upped my storage, and upload all the OLD OLD archives. They're a mess, not searchable and out of order. But OH so fun to read. “A lady who has a secure seat is never prettier than when in the saddle, and she who cannot make her conquest there, may despair of the power of her charms elsewhere.” - THE MANNERS THAT WIN, 1880 http://www.feeverte.net |
