FWIW-though the site says it is the 68, it is actually the 45 that they are selling (which retails for +/-30 euros in france)...

What's your favorite absinthe and why?

I have several,

1. Vintage pre-ban French Pernod Fils.
I had a small sample about a year ago, this is the best I have ever tasted. Very complex herbal flavor with a slight and delightfull bitterness in the finish.

2. Pernod Fils Tarragona circa 1920-1930.
I have tasted several samples from this era. Compares favorably to the above but I still give a small edge to the French because it had a more clearly defined flavor in it's finish.

3. Argenti Absenta circa 1970.
I tasted this recently and was very impressed. Lighter in body and flavor than either of the vintage P-F's, but still very tasty with a nice bitterness at the end.

4. Teds early Jade prototype.
I was fortunate to obtain a full liter of this delicious elixir. Full bodied, very herbal and complex from start to finish. Ted told me that it was the core of one his products, but the final version was to be tweaked with the addition of even more herbs.

5. Betinas Lablue #2.
This is the most complex tasting of the eight or so different LB's that I have tried. Her #1 is also very nice as well. Most of the others that I have tasted are simpler, and more neutral in flavor. A couple have been nasty.

6. Francois Guy.
My current favorite commercial brand, It does have a couple of shortcomings, but I still like it a lot.

7. Un Emile.
A little more basic tasting than the F. G., but still very good. I like both 68% and 45% versions about the same.

If you can give me a paint job and oil change for $99.95 you (Earl) got a deal;-) Do you happen to serve Absinthe in the lobby of your warehouse...?
Do I get a bag of combos with every La Bleue order?

Let's see... 7,000 miles for a $19.95 oil change... hmmm... maybe not.

Keep dodging the bullets.
