My advice-
DO NOT, DO NOT, buy serpis.

unless you want to.
or like red and orange.
or want to do the opposite of what I advise.
Or plan on having cheri over. (heh)

I agree with Giovanni that there is an aspect of taste that is present in both Serpis and F. Guy. In the Guy it is mild and understated, whereas in the Serpis it is front and center.

For my evolving taste, the Guy is too mild, and the Serpis is not enough like absinthe.

Gio is also right- the Serpis 65 is WAY better than the 55, which I find to be undrinkable.

Serpis is definitely an acquired taste. I haven't tried F.Guy, but can say that Sir Piss is nothing like any other product I have tried, from the pumpkin-orange louche to the flavor.

It's the only one with Serpisicity!

I tried Serpis on a day where I got a large shipment from Spirits corner. I felt like a kid in a candy store, trying a glass of this and that. When I got to the Serpis (after sampling 4 others that day,) I found the taste disagreeable to me. I couldn't finish my glass and ended up pouring my mixed half glass down the drain. I'll give it another chance on one of those days when I feel adventurous. I'm guessing its an aquired taste.

F.Guy definately... then Serpis the next time.

I don't care for either, but I'd say that Frankie G. is of better quality. Althought many people seem to have a special place in their heart for Serpis, my opinion is that it's more of a novelty - a punk-rock, anti-establishment absinthe.

Neither one of them is a favorite of mine as I detect a similarity in their flavors that doesn't appeal to me. (I'm the only one who seems to notice this, so keep that in mind.).. Personal taste aside, if it's down to those two, try the F. Guy..it's not as much of an acquired taste, and it's also one of the few products out there that claims to be traditionally made. (i.e. not an oil mix).

Now, if you're persuaded to get Serpis as this thread progresses, keep in mind you should get the 65, not the 55.. The 65 is noticeably tastier.

I'm thinking about making another purchase soon. It's basically come down between these two. I want to try both, and I have not tried either. If you were me which would you choose between. Which out of the two are a better quality ? Thanks for your time and input, I haven't really posted in a few months.
