It would be nice to see Kubler improve their product. If they could avoid the empyreuma/tails situation, it would help bring their product into the realm of good absinthe. I don't know if their problem was the quality of their absinthium, so much as overcooking it. In addition to solving their empyreuma problem, perhaps they should explore going all the way with their absinthe and make it a verte?

I like Kubler, and I'm glad to see that they are improving their product.

I believe if you go to the blackmint.ch website there's a list of stores that carry Kubler. I used to find it in Schaffhausen.

ok, hope to answer all the questions:
- there's (unfortunately) nothing mentioned on the label to indicate that they now use "homegrown" wormwood.
- I'm not sure if you already received one of the new bottles - they just started to produce it a short time ago.
- Kübler 45% is available is Switzerland for approximately the same price I offer it. But it's not available in every Supermarket. The 57% is not available - a legal right thing.
- It's no problem to import it to France.

Markus,
Is Kubler available for sale in Switzerland, to the general public? Is it legally available for import into France? Just wondering, thanks.

I did think that the most recent bottle tasted less of "Tails" than the previous.

Is there any indication that there has been a recipe change on the label?

I've visited the Kübler Distillery in January. Pretty interesting, that they changed the wormwood. They now use wormwood, growen in the Val de Travers. I've tasted both - the old and the new and I tell you - this is a remarkable improvement. I liked the suff before, but the new "version" is fabulous. The 57% is ok, but to me it's not that highlight you really have to taste.
