I stir after a 5 minutes drop.

I assume absinthe spoons have pointed tip for the purpose of reaching the bottom of the glass where the sugar deposit is.

I wish the holes were smaller in the Tarragona drippers. I have one that I bought from Ian with a smaller hole, it works great. I definitely prefer it to a spoon and carafe. I haven't found stirring to be all that helpful.

I have become a big fan of the Tarragona drip glasses. I wet the sugar first so it is soft enough to plug the hole in the brouille, then I fill the dripper with ice (small cubes), and top up with bottled water a couple times.

And no, I don't stir.

"LL nyc" is "Louched Liver's New York City." Refers to a gathering of absinthe enthusiasts last year. The "fountain" is probably a vintage Moen or Price-Pfister. (see water tap)

I searched for that fountain and found nothing. What does LL nyc" stand for? What was it originally used for? Looks very nice.

You do not have to spend $200+ dollars to get a functional fountain, which will increase your enjoyment of absinthe tenfold. These are pix of my fountain, which is a great hit at parties. Total cost to me - under $20. I bought the fountain on E-bay for roughly $15. The base, which I've exposed here, is just an old can of baby formula. I wrap it with pictures and construction paper when we have a party. It's a hit.

By all means, stir it up!

The LL NYC Fountain involves an investment of $0, and works llike a charm. So you can pocket that $1.

Do you stir after the drip?
well,, do you?
I do because i hate an unstirred drink. I also only drip for @ 2 mins. I dont care for holding the carafe for 10 min. I'd like to get the fountain. I only need 200.00 more dollars to add to my 1.
I also noticed that some spoons work better than otheres. I like the "fleche" spoon best. the absente spoon looks nice but doesn't work well.
