My main memory of Club Mallard was the 6' woman shooting pool. Her stature, and the way she stroked the cue caused my loins to flush.

this bar is right down the street from me.

http://www.clubmallard.com/index.html

and has been there since before WWII, when this entire area was littered with honky tonks and brothels to cater to the nearby navy shipyards.

It isn't all intact authentic, but the upkeep is very sympathetic. Cute retro-style bartender girls too.

The Hotsy Totsy is across the street, and is still a smelly old man bar. Yeah!

My girlfriend just discovered this wonderfully tacky Tiki bar in Alexandria. It's not faux-tacky. It had the kind of authentic tackiness that can only come from keeping the same decorations on the wall for 20 years.

There is also this cute rockabilly couple that hangs out there, with a gorgeous '58 (I think) Ford...

Ah!,....Memories of the Trader Vic's, in the Lobby of the Late Shamrock Hotel......I have a few old Mugs, and a coulpe of glass mugs that have smiling and frowning tiki faces.
I need to dig up Trader Vic's (from the 1940's book)take on the Zombie, the old version had Herbsaint in it.

I love 'em. I have a cobalt genie bottle from Aladdin (but it's plastic so it don't get pride of place), a ceramic hot air balloon from Paris and just got a big ceramic parrot glass from the Captain Morgan bar in Reno.

And the Skull. Weee!

I'm seeing all the ones my parents had gotten in Tahoe/Reno when I was a kid on ebay now as "antique" kitsch. It's scary and awesome.

Souvenir glasses becoming popular collector items with Las Vegas visitors

By SONYA PADGETT
REVIEW-JOURNAL

For many, part of Las Vegas' charm is the veritable cornucopia of alcoholic beverages and kitschy souvenirs available along the Strip.

What's really nice for those who love the cheesiness of Sin City is to get the two combined, as they are at several casinos selling signature glasses or mugs overflowing with a customer's libation of choice.

To some, it may be the ultimate in gaudiness, to others it's a great way of remembering their trip to a special city.

Other properties with signature mugs include Treasure Island, 3300 Las Vegas Blvd. South; Stratosphere, 2000 Las Vegas Blvd. South; and Luxor, 3900 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Treasure Island's 32-ounce skull mugs are popular, says Dale Rosenberg, beverage manager for the property. About 1,500 a month are sold at the hotel's bars and gift shop for $11.95.
