... And when I think you could get 750ml of an amazing 70% alc. distilled absinthe verte for 150$...

For those who don`t already know what I`m talking about and who are looking for a reliable source of rare quality absinthe, send me an email, maybe I could forward you a very usefull email address... The only drawback is the very low availability but once you will get your hands on your first bottle, it will make you forget all the ripoffs one can come across on the web.

Once again, "Simonsuisse" Pedersen, that alleged connoisseur of a host of vintage absinthes, comes across as a crank. Lots of words and nothing to back them up.

By the way, Simon, have you figured out yet how to find an Internet café and use a scanner there?

Howabout we check to see where empty 'MORAND' wine bottles are sold?

Was anyone's screwcaps sealed. Mine had the spongy cork and a unsealed screwcap. I've heard Betty's LaBleues have sealed screwcaps...

I just recieved a sample of this now infamous "verte" and IMHO, it is not absinthe. It tastes like a watered down Oxygenee. I think some people got seriously ripped off. Do us all a favor and publicize who is the seller (Isuisse, Betty?)and let it be known that this charade is over for them.

So I see you have one too...

I was simply stating that the only other 'Suisse' product I've tasted was Kubler...

That emoticon seems appropriate...

Don't disgrace the good name of Kubler by comparing it to this Verte.

BTW I do have an emoticon for how I feel -

I need a crying emoticon...

My 'Suisse LaBleue' tastes like a 'Pastis de Verte'. I can only compare it to Kubler as for a Suisse product. I've never had a true La Bleue... I thought I would be with this deal.

$130.00 is a bit less than Betty but still, it's a lot more than a $40.00 Oxy...

You know, I think I like the Kubler as a Suisse product better than this. Tails and all...

Like I said, I need a crying emoticon... or something else.

Crosby, do you have anything...?

"also has a more intense thujone effect than the others"

The fact is, you have absolutely no idea whether it has any "thujone effect" at all.

Well, the colour has varied a bit over the last 3 years. Some of the first ones i got where almost clear in colour(similar hue to Argenti) and the last lot i had was more akin to Deva in colour. The taste is similar to Un Emile 68%, but there is also a presence of star anise giving it a weird mix of green anise and badiane. Overall it is a good bleue verte and ranks higher in taste than regular la bleues, also has a more intense thujone effect than the others, if that's your kind of thing.

I have had a few bottles of this stuff in the past(Not from Betina though) and i would recomend it. I prefer this particular to the the regular la bleue anisee, but the higher alcohol la bleue Trad is also good.
