I myself only went to MSU for a year about a decade before you where there, but hung out there since I was a kid. Even lived 2 doors away from the Harrison Roadhouse for a very booze sodden time.

No, I'm from Madonna's hometown (Rochester), but I did date an East Lansing local when I was at school there, would've been 1986-89. And I knew alot of locals, since I lived in a fairly "infamous" off-campus house that featured a lot of indie-band shows/parties.

There's a huge NCAA basketball game on today. Michigan State University vs. Arizona at 5:40 EST. I'm a basketball junkie - been called a junkie of other sorts before, but that's another story.
For those uninformed MSU colors are "green" and white. More info. for the unaware, MSU are the reigning NCAA Basketball Champions.
So, have a glass of the green and toast the "green" and white. Go Spartans!!
Michigan's a beautiful place today.
