I tried a little absinthe in a margarita. Made my eyes pop wide open. Thought about calling it a chupacabra, but i believe that's already been taken.

Hmm, I discovered another one the other day after getting some takeaway from my local Thai,
absinthe and coconut juice (ie from a fresh coconut- not coconut milk from a can!)

heretic! stone him!!!
hehe.
thanks for the tip on tomate. there are a few good cassises available at BevMo near me. sounds like a good match.
also, my usual non-beer drink of choice has been a good ole gin and tonic... but this last weekend a friend of mine tending bar was going through a drink book experimenting and made me a rusty nail... something like two parts scotch and one part drambouie. fucking rocked, eh. might be my drink of choice for a while...

Just a brief resurrection of this thread.
For fans of the cherry Slerpis: Pour yourself a "tomate" using Serpis 65 and a good cassis.
Yum!
Anyone tried the Jade products with cassis, or is that still to be considered heresy at this point?

Iced coffee with a dose of absinthe. Great with or with out milk or cream. Its becoming my daylight drink of choice.
Hot coffee with a splash of absinthe. Black. Its becoming my morning drink of choice.
Absinthe. Its becoming my drink of choice.
I still do love a gin and tonic!

I tried chilled peppermint tea (and use loose peppermint leaf- not tea bag stuff).
It works really well, and really quite refreshing on a hot day.

Some things to try with absinthe:
1} that new "fruit water" stuff
2} tears of the innocent
3) lemon/lime perrier water
4} mild tea infusion of valerian root, chilled
5} green tea
6} triple espresso
You figure out which ones of these i'm serious about.

I've got that poster in my cubicle. It confuses everyone. So do the quotes from Nietzsche in German and Juvenalis in Latin...

I thought the Holy Spirit and the Green Fairy were not getting along that well.
The last time I saw them together was in the famous poster where she has the dagger in her side.
I guess time does heal all wounds. Maybe soon we will see her up and around again, just like before the attack.
