Sepulchritude Forum: The Absinthe Forum Thru December 2001: Cut Glass Topette?

Good question. It is in a form of black letter and I think it is initials for a name. Something akin to "ROR." I am guessing it was for someone wealthy who had a taste fot anise...

Justin, beautiful piece of glassware, what is the engraving of? It doesn't show up in the photo.

Tim, nice topette, I'm jealous!

Petermarc, tell us a story about the fleamarkets and shops in France. Is it still possible to find treasures for cheap? Or have all the dealers caught on to absinthe stuff?

"can't say it was always absinthe that was in it"

I suppose you never could with topettes, anyway, not bad for a £10 ($15)

tim,
it is a nice topette...i have one similar...
can't say it was always absinthe that was in it, but a real good chance...classic turn-of the century design, maybe older? easily could sell for 100$++...

Try tripod.com, it's somewhat better than yahoo/geocities. You can store and share all your photo's, media, mp3s, warez, divx, files, etc.
It's free also.
You just don't have the problems like yahoo/geocities does. Pages turned off there way to much.
We use it to store our media on their servers.

Kallisti - I shall delete them after i get some response or when geocities is back : - ), dont want to be a bandwidth hog

Hobgoblin,

if your browser supports the function (which some 3.xx Version of IE or Netscape might not), then just type

"backslash"image{write whatever you like here}

Then, when you post it, your browser shows another page where you can choose any picture file from your harddrive.
But, as said before, your browser must support it.

Timk, I think you only forgot the {description} after the \image, that's why it doesn't work.

And of course, geocities doesn't work either (how many times have I seen geocities pages not showing up...countless times...)

How do I display an image as part of a post?

This will sound like a thick question to all the computer literate folk here, but how is it done. I've tried to copy and paste a jpeg file, a bmp file and a gif file but it won't let me paste any nof them into my post. How is it done do I need some other software or shit to do it or am I just pressing the wrong button?

Picked this up quite a while back, the guy didnt know what it was, and it didnt cost a lot, anyway, anyone seen one like this before, its hand blown, wheel cut with etched numbers, and hand cut lines, Sorry about the picture quality - the new digital camera is out of the house at the moment : - (

and finally, a poor attempt at getting a picture of the dose marks - it has 12 doses with a cut line and etched number marking each one:

Kallisti - is there a way to display them but locate the files on my web space?
