Gotta love that School-marm-boobs-busting-out-all-over-the-place style corset. Yowsa. And Latex is...interesting. Very sweaty though. Fsome people that's the whole point, I guess.

"I don't understand at all why a lot of people find this latex/leather s/m stuff sexy... "
Heiko, I don't either, but I remember what a psychiatrist friend once said:
"There is nothing weirder than OTHER people kinks... OURS are fine".
By _Blackjack on Friday, November 16, 2001 - 02:48 am: Edit
Oh, the latex and leather (and PVC) I like just fine. They feel neat. The actual BDSM stuff ain't my cuppa, but I can unserstand the appeal, on an aesthetic level.
And corsets rule.

Don't be silly, amphibian is a state of mind. Don't let the aqua eye liner fool you, she just wants some lovin.

Hmmm... she's a bit too amphibian-like for my taste.

Sign me up. I regularly import bottles of Absinthe. Give me a good frisking.

The customs officer has come to collect your bottles, gentlemen.

That thing can indeed activate itself while you're just watching html-files.
http://germany.trendmicro.de/vinfo/virusEncyclo/default5.asp?VName=VBS_HAPTIME.A
(info is in English, despite the name and domain)
It had no chance with my pc, because I never activate Active Desktop and I have Outlook 6 and IE 6 installed (fixed some security holes). Yet I had no Viruscheck running. That was a warning...
By Heiko on Friday, November 09, 2001 - 06:28 am: Edit
Wolfgang (or Kallisti, if editing is still impossible), could you please remove the link? It might be interesting, but not interesting enough for people to get a virus!
By Heiko on Friday, November 09, 2001 - 06:26 am: Edit
Peter, thanks - indeed a virus in all of the htm files!!
I don't think it can do any harm, because the scanner only says it found the signature of the worm "Happy Times" in all of the html files of www.absinthe.nl
But who knows? Maybe it can activate itself through activeX or javascript? I'm going to do a scan of the whole system now... A scan of c:\ has only found the infected html-files in the Temporary Internet Files folder, but I want to be sure...

Peter, thanks for trying to find out about the fountain, too bad it didn't work out. It would be so cool to find a source for a decent repro.

i just got a message that that site(amsterdam) has a virus in it...be warned!
i was in antwerp, yawn, tuesday and the tgv(train) magazine had an article about the cannabis cup awards going on in amsterdam this month (www.hightimes.com)...absinthe seems down-right tame or at least, normal for that town...how about the addition of another herb in the haugemacht?

Ho, and by the way, my public excuse to the forum lurker who's selling his empty bottle, I just said that out of boredom and didn't want to be mean...
By Wolfgang on Thursday, November 08, 2001 - 02:16 pm: Edit
Have you seen that one ?
**deleted virus infected website**
Interesting concept. It look's like they serve interesting absinthes (some bottles in the background suggest that they have some LaBleue). Only problem is with the little video showing an absinthe that doesn't louche in an ordinary glass... Juging by the color, it's probably some Czech brand...
Anyway, do we have an European forumit willing to pay a visit and post a report?
By Wolfgang on Thursday, November 08, 2001 - 07:08 am: Edit
Who's willing to ask the seller where he got a full bottle and at what price just to see if we get the right answer ?
By Wolfgang on Thursday, November 08, 2001 - 07:06 am: Edit
Who's selling his empty bottle of NS on ebay? tss tss tss! bad boy ! ;-)
By Petermarc on Thursday, November 08, 2001 - 05:13 am: Edit
the museum did not want to give me the source,
even though they stopped using them...not surprising...
By Etienne on Wednesday, November 07, 2001 - 05:22 pm: Edit
You're quite right, the business about the fountains was so reported. I think someone, I forget who, was going to talk to the people at the museum and try to locate the source, or something of the sort. I don't think we ever heard back from them. Forgive my faulty memory.

Yeah, that's the Absinthe Museum site, and I thought it was reported here that they'd stopped selling their fountains due to quality control problems.
I like the "drunken moon" poster. Coca-Cola may have stolen the idea for an advertisement of theirs, showing a little round figure with a Coca-Cola logo on him who is giving the Earth a drink of Coca-Cola, much like the guy is doing to the moon in that poster. I'm certain it postdates the absinthe poster.

Does anybody know what happened to the Bahnhofplatz pages? Those were really nice and now they're gone.
Just to throw something out, there is this:
http://www.arte-tv.com/tracks/20010105/ftext/absinthe.htm
It talks about a bar in Berlin that serves 15 different absinthe cocktails.
It also mentions a "Très beau site en anglais", which is still my best discovery on the web:

This is the place to share your absinthe discovery on the web. Please don't post something that come's out of the first 50 results of a Google search about "absinthe"...
