It used to be when I opened a thread, the page would display posts from top to bottom. If there was more than one page of posts, I could go to other pages. Just now, and I mean, just minutes ago as I was reading a topic, went to a few other sites for some research and then came back, now there I see one or two posts on the page, with some stupid index at the bottom of "posts in this topic", forcing me to click on individual posts selectively to see them, rather than being able to read them all like chapters in a book from top to bottom. Is this something I did by mistake, or God forbid, is this some new "feature" of the forum we are all forced to use? It is WAY fucked up and needs to be returned to the way it was before, without delay.
Nothing seems to have changed on my end.
Try going to the drop down menu called Options at the upper right of the open thread.
Go down the list and choose Display Modes: Standard.
Just found it and changed it back the way I'm used to it, after reading your first post and before your second. I had Fee Verte running in two windows and another site in a third when it got chingered up - I don't know how but I must have changed it unintentionally. Thanks.
Strange, but I never even noticed that "options" button before a couple of minutes ago.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who occasionally is ready to start yelling fire at the first wisps of smoke. Even when they come from the food I'm cooking on the stove-top.
Are you sure it's food?
Oh, geez, don't do that. I don't know. You're going to set off my alarms.
When the forums go wonky on me I just clear my browsers cache and all is back to normal.
To make it worse, it occurs to me that maybe the exact same thing happened to me with this forum, maybe years ago, and I complained about it then too, outraged that someone had broken the forum, before someone said, hey just press the button that's there for that purpose. It doesn't help that I've been conditioned recently by Google fucking up their search page, and then their news page, and there were no fixes for those other than to abandon the damned things. I would have deleted my initial post, but it may help someone (in conjunction with G&C's response), and if it provides some laughs at my expense, that's okay too.
