Hey all,

I stumbled across this forum a couple weeks ago, and just recently made my first purchase - some Pernod 68, via Marcus. It arrived just yesterday in Newark. The trouble is, I'm in Rochester, NY. I'd like to avoid having to drive all the way to Jersey to pick it up, and so I'm wondering how safe it is to ship via domestic carriers (USPS, FedEx, UPS, etc). Is there any chance of my package being searched or seized/held? My intuition tells me no, but God only knows how the post service and other carriers have changed their policies in the last two years. So have any of you ever had trouble with the USPS or anyone else? Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Glorodin

I have never had any problems. I have been ordering for about a year now. Mainly from Sebor just cuz i didnt know there were any better brands, but i have tried LDF and FSC and have had no problems.

Did you have it shipped to Newark? Or is it being "held" there by a gov't agency?

I had it shipped to Newark. A friend and I placed an order together so as to save on shipping, it was shipped to his place since he made the order.

It's illegal to send alcohol via the US Postal Service. FedEx and UPS will ship alcohol in and to SOME, but not all, states, and they reserve the right to only do so for licensed retailers, distributors, etc.

This being said, there isn't a lot of inspection of packages once they are in the country, so unless the bottle is leaking or something, it would probably make it if you lied about the contents.

You will do fine. Follow Kallisti's direction.
