Interesting. I was just noticing last night that my 4 bottle supply of the Clandestine had dwindled to less than 1/2 a bottle. I'm going to wait a few weeks before ordering any more. A 140 proof La Bleue seems like a strange concept but worth a try, I suppose.

100? I wouldn't even rate vintage pre-ban Pernod Fils a 100.

Perhaps not, but if you were ever fortunate enough to try this incredible Pernod Fils clone the maker was generous enough to let me sample in abundance, you might understand what a 100 really is! wink.gif

A Pernod Fils clone that's close enough to production to be beta-testing it with known absintheurs?

Hmmmmm….

Probably Sebor. They make a lot of carefully crafted clones of great pre-bans.

Or maybe FG? He's always griped about wanting people to let him make a stronger absinthe…

Wow! All kidding aside, that's really cool news. Was it f&*king great?!?

Jealous to say the least!

Today, I received a my shipment from Alandia (Moulin Vert, Amer 72 and their La Bleue Clandestine) along with a Serpis for good measure. Had to start my taste tests immediately and have to say that the Clandestine is the best of the first three; but nowhere near 100, perhaps a mid 80's.

Unfortunately, now working on my fourth "taste test" of the evening, I am not in a position to properly judge anything. A more "controlled" test forthcoming! blink.gif

Ever feel like you arrived late at a party, and asked a question about something everybody had already discussed?

yeah

I'm going to go look for the cheese and crackers…

It's not that you arrived too late, Turkey Bill, it's that a discussion in private chambers spilled over into the parlor. The product in question is not offered for sale and probably never will be, is my guess.

And I'm also guessing it's not a 100.
