QUOTE(G&C @ Jan 14 2007, 03:12 PM) *

Your post is only one of many recent.

What purpose does it serve to quote the post directly above?

still don't know what you are referring to.

I do it to be clear-- these threads branch (fray?), so it's unclear to which particular post I'm replying if I don't quote it, especially with so much OT in every thread at any given time.

Still, I wonder-- what gives NO the blue tinge?

Oh, you're the funny one, eh? One in every bunch...

Still, I thought it was the antimony chloride.

It's the woad.

Turns out that Nouvelle Orleans is deceptively named, and is actually based on a little known early Pictish absynthe.gif recipe.

If I recall correctly, the copy of 'Duplais Tome I' that I have mentions something about using "blue for dying wool" in one of the cheaper absinthes. I could be mistaken.

I read the same. And if you wanted green, you used wool and saffron.

(Well, that particular recipe was not for an absinthe but anyway)

When you do quote a post, ( from earlier) it's considered polite and good form to trim it down to a few words.

Yes, Kirk & G&C are obviously the experts when it comes to politeness & "good form." You can tell by their need to make themselves feel superior to others over minor issues and general condescending tone.

It gets even worse if you don't edit the post down to what you're responding to.

markymark should be less concerned with Kirk and G&C feeling superior and more focused on the fact that they are his superior in every worthwhile way.

It's also considered polite and good form to let people post what and how they want. Isn't that the point of all your whining???

I'll quote whatever I want for whatever reason I want, just like you'll go off on drunken rants that nobody wants to listen to-- am I telling you to cut that out? No. And I'm not taking orders from you either.

So, wasn't somebody saying something about some drink?
