[Black Jack I am not going to argue with you on this , and your right about alcohol. I am a little older than you though and many of my Friends are dead now. They aren't all dead from speed but
Speed kills, this is not government propaganda as you put.
It's hard to tell someone like me about drugs you see , I will leave it to your imagination why. Speed may not be worse than some of the other drugs you mentioned but it does[can, will] cause permanent psychosis , if you don't understand this then you haven't been around as much as you think you have. Give it time , if you have Friends doing it you will see . Also the ease at which you can become addicted to a drug says nothing about how harmful it is . Heroin is easy to become addicted to yet is relatively harmless , physical compared to something like alcohol. Speed on the other hand may not be as addictive but is extremely harmful. If you have ever heard of or seen cocaine psychosis, then you should understand amphetamine induced psychosis. government propaganda is the last thing you will hear out of my mouth.
.......... HAIL DISCORDIA.

Hmm, seems like amphetamines tend to cause arrhythmias, extremely high blood pressure, and several cardiac myopathies as well, if memory serves me right. Ah hell, but what's a heart attack, stroke, chronic kidney disease, pulmonary embolisms, etc...What doesn't kill ya makes ya stronger!

I guess you're right that female heros are addictive and relatively harmless.

If you're referring to heroin though, it depresses hepatic function, your respiratory and excretory systems far more severely than alcohol, though the amount of physical organ damage sustained isn't as severe as alcohol.

I think most drugs should be legal(there are
some, like PCP,that are almost guaranteed to
cause psychotic rage and probable harm to others-
I'm not so sure about these).

Sell them very cheaply over the counter,to discourage competition from street dwelling dealers.
Use any profits to set up clinics for those who
become addicted but have no insurance or money
for treatment.

People will get whatever they want if they want it badly enough, and the fact that drugs are illegal
has caused gang wars, the deaths of innocent
people,even children,caught in the crossfire,
and prisons filled with drug users when room is needed for the real nasty types like the murderers, rapists, and child molesters.

Besides,I do'nt like the government telling people
what to do with their bodies and brains.Remember
prohibiton.People who wanted alcohol badly
enough got it,and the "mobs" got involved ,
creating crime where none was before.

Most drugs can be bad, good,or neutral, depending
on how they are used. Some drugs are also
used as medicine(morphine, cocaine)and some medicines can become drugs if used without
discretion. All are drugs, anyway. "Drug'' is not
a dirty word, except to the government and
the uninformed.I am not saying I know alot
about all the various drugs out there and their
side-effect,but I do believe this much.

As far as heroin being harmless,it may be as long
as users continue to use it,but when they try to
go off of it that is another story.I helped two
friends withdraw from heroin.Luckily they were
well off enough to buy "good"drugs through
a dealer to ease the pain, but they were bed-
ridden for most of a week, knocked out most
of the time, and in great physical pain much of
the time. One of my friends was also fired for smoking at work, because he could'nt get through
the day without it.I do'nt know if drugs were
legal, if employers would still have to keep
people employed if they found out someone
was using.

The Master Alchemist

Like someone else said, calm down. hula-1.gif Personally,I told you I was only playing at being mean-if you want to make alcohol from fruit,go ahead, but like others have told you,you are not likely to get good absinthe from your recipe.

If you are using all those drugs,I think it would be
best to at least use them seperately. If you
are using them in combination and they have made
you as paranoid as you sound, perhaps it would
be best to at least ease off. blink.gif

If you can only afford absinthe very occasionally,
then something very good once in awhile is
better than dangerous swill available any time
you like.Listen to what people here are saying.
I will only be able to have absinthe occasionally
also, but at least I will have a pleasant experience
then(depending on what I try,I suppose.)

Go to the Absinthe Buyer's Guide, pick something that sounds nice, and save up.Maybe use
some of what would usually be your drug money.

Most people here are not out to get you;they just do'nt want you to be stupid spam.gif for your
own sake Tombstone2.gif and for selfish reasons,
as well.No one wants the bad press of someone
"ODing" on a vile concoction-absinthe in name only.

Peace,brother.... w00t1.gif

Hell, cigarettes will do that to you. I'm telling you, you gave me one now, I'd have an entire pack down in a couple of hours.

You are right about smoking I was a pack a day + [Marlboro reds 20 years] and the last time I quit was 5 years ago. I still dream about doing it.
Never did heroin , but back in the late 70s I used to get some pretty good opium, and I never forgot that.
I guess it's best not to do any drugs, but some how life just is'nt like that. Probably the saddest deaths I have seen among my freinds were from prescription drugs , alcohol , ciggs, speed ,cocaine. In that order.
All my freinds are either dead or in jail [ just kidding], some of them are on the road , a few are seeking [or is that in a ] asylum.

When my dad was trying to quit smoking he asked his Uncle how he had done it. My great uncle had started smoking when he was about 12 and quit when he was about 50. He said "You gotta just quit cold turkey. I just woke up one day and said I'm never gonna have another cigarette." Now he was about 90 years old.
My dad said: "Do you ever think about having one?"
"Every Goddamn day."

That is pretty much what I did. But I did it 4 times. The last time worked.

heart.gif Being happy helped heart.gif

And I remember, more than a few years ago going to a party where every one there was someone I had known as a teenager. We started going through an old photo album. Nearly everyone we wondered "where are they now" was either dead (usually drugs), a whore, or missing for the above reasons. It is very sad.

Though one guy had fallen off Mount Everest, we thought that was, if not the scariest way to go, at least the coolest.

And then I made the mistake of going to my 10 year HS reunion and seeing who was left standing. Ick.
