Hate to start a whole thread on this, but I couldn't find a better place to mention it:
I was just watching the 4th season of CSI (las vegas ) and found an episode with an absinthe thread. There's a killing in a "vampire cult", and when the CSI's take a swab of the bite-marks on the victim's throat, they find thuj0ne in the saliva. This winds up leading them to an underground absinthe bar, peopled by goth types, where NATURALLY every sugar cube in the building is in flames. Does every reference to absinthe in the media have to involve vampires or ritual killings? Try to imagine the daring filmaker who shows a nice, sophisticated couple enjoying a glass of fine absinthe, and not tripping on it, in an intelligent movie about human relationships. yeah right… |
