Still tweaking it but I thought I'd preview here before updating the rest of the site. New nav and header, plus board updates under way.

Tah!

What do you think about adding a new feature to the review section that shows you the average score for all products? I imagine it to look like a vertical box with lines breaking it down "90", "80", etc. and the brand name would appear where it should. It basically summarizes all the reviews in a very simple form. Later, you could add buttons to show "French absinthes" or "Swiss", ect. - I think this would be very useful.

Yes! Looks nice!

Also, it seems like you got rid of the annoying onResize script. Thank you!
I noticed that the features "Full/Quick Edit" for editing posts didn't work properly before. Was that due to the resize thing or?

Hm, I could've tried them again before asking. I'll do that.

Yes! Works like a charm. You rock!

jmfranc; modifying forum software to do what you outlined would represent a lot of work which very few people would be willing to do for the result it would yield.

The new higher resolution masthead is rather nice, Kallisti!

Looks great.

Maybe I'll work on something like what I was describing and if it works out, show you all and see if you want to use it.

jmfranc, the "problem" is that this isn't a database driven Buyers Guid (AFAIK). It's simply HTML pages.
That makes it a real bitch to do such things. A lot of pages to maintain.
If it was database driven it would be done in no-time by a number of members here, myself included.

Maybe it's time. And isn't this forum dynamically created? It's rooted in a database? I doubt anyone is hard coding every single page. Is it a simple flat text database? If so, we could make it work with some old-school cgi…. of course, I'd prefer an Access DB for simplicity.

I believe it is MySQL, from the error messages I get here occasionally when the server is overloaded.

Even better. A good ole' IF statement is about all you need to filter out the scores.
