Just wanted to assure those of you who, like me, are new to the ordering process that, at least in my case, my absinthe order came yesterday, not confiscated, not taxed by some Men In Black wanting my credit card info or even a cross-eyed look from my friendly deliveryman. I was, frankly, a bit freaked out about dumping a lot of green for a couple of bottles of same, just to have it confiscated, or as one poster posited "The (delivery ambiguous agent) *edit* might just drink your stuff", Horrors! Anyway, thanks to LFV and all of the bright reviews and hipsters who replied to my concerns, I have my fuckin' stuff. Cannot wait for the perfect moment to partake. Your're good friends, albeit unknown. I was walking past a pub in the west of Ireland when I saw a sign with the following message:
"In this hive we are alive, good whiskey makes us funny, passerby come in and try, the flavour of our honey"
I did and had a great time there. I feel that way here as well. Thanks, all. absintheglass-glow2.gif

It's generally not good to mention shipper names, you should probably edit that out.

Interesting that you would mention in your latest post what you were trying to remove from your previous... frusty.gif

I know a guy who works in customs, and says they see absinthe coming through all the time but never bother to stop it. It's just not worth their while; the amount of time and effort it takes to confiscate it, log and itemise it, do all the paperwork notify everyone, etc... it's not worth it over a few bottles. It's time and money that could be spent securing borders against real threats, like letterbombs, heroin and anthrax.

I've sent packages to friends in the US which have had "Contents: 1 x Bottle of Absinthe 70cl" on the front and they've all arrived intact.

Since I can't seem to find the edit either, I guess it will be fixed when an admin finally sees this.

Tristan: Yeah it's not exactly high priority, however when it comes to shipping, absinthe can break other rules so it's generally best to not mention names.

Thanks, I felt like a boob for this slip, won't happen again.

Here, here, and all that. It's good to have a place like this, gives me hope for the future.

It's also completely unnecessary to quote the post above yours every time you respond to a comment! Quoting is useful when responding to something from a few posts back, or when you want to cut out a little snippet from a long post and respond to it.

It also helps if you don't mention the shipper name when talking about deleting the shippers name......
