The poet of the steel mills. I miss him.

I can't find his wonderful pieces on life at the mill in the archives - I think they may fall into the period where many threads are missing. Did anyone save them?

Helloooo? Anyone?

What I'm looking for are the two or three depressed but brilliant posts Pikkle wrote describing life at the mill. From recollection, they were in fact after 2001, so they should be indexed, but despite repeated searches, I can't find them.

That sounds interesting to me, especially as a publisher of working class literature. Good luck in finding those posts.

Pikkle, come back!

He is registered and was here not that long ago. He always cracked me up. I remember one very long and seemingly serious dissertation regarding some political issue of the day. He then stopped in mid sentence and said, never mind I'm fucked up on percocet again.

I met him at the NYC party in 2002, seemed like a nice guy. Unfortunately he was already blind drunk by the time everyone showed up, and passed out about an hour into the party so nobody got to talk to him much. He was wearing a PBR shirt. Not a T-shirt, but a nice looking button down, that had the Pabst Blue Ribbon logo all over it.

Hah, sounds like he "got 'er dun" early on, sorta like the Liver at Jackfest though he lasted through 'til Sunday morning.

Pikkle's pictures and stories from the mills:
First page

Second page

Third page (mostly camera/film geekery, short on the Pikkle tales)

Sorry it took so long for me to get around to finding them, Oxy. A few weeks back, I had remembered that the thread in question (or a related thread) had discussed cameras, the Hexar in particular. Knowing that keyword couldn't be in too many threads, I knew I could find Pikkle's stuff, if it still existed. But then I forgot to go back and do the actual search until yesterday.

BTW, was I the only one who thought Pikkle was Head (initially, at the time).

I thought he was Head too until I met him. Both seemed to have that twisted esoteric sense of humour and both were from Michigan. Go figure...

I still think he's Head, and that neither of them is real.
