Satisfied recipient of absinthe-suisse order #62 reporting in:

Order made late Sunday night, received early Friday afternoon. Monkeys indeed knocked at the door and requested a signature, though I don't know what they would have done if no one had been home. Packaging is less hi-tech than LdF - just paper padding in a cardboard carton (try saying that ten times fast ... forget it, it's easy) - but everything was intact.

It was the site's opening offer that I couldn't refuse. The three Bugnon absinthes, 2.35 liters in all, delivered for about $240 at last week's horrible exchange rate (though not as horrible as this week's). Not bad for courier service. And they have some other interesting-sounding offerings besides the Clandestines.

... and as a bonus, they threw in a very nice spoon. (A design that doesn't appear to be for sale on the site.)

I didn't mention this before, because, umm, I hadn't checked the packing slip and in the meantime we'd thrown away the package so it was necessary to fish the spoon out of the garbage can in the alley.

Here's another review from an absinthe-suisse customer. Order number 94!

I left a comment on La Clandestine's myspace page, and got a quick appreciative response. I wanted to order some Swiss Absinthe, but prices and exhange rates are high. After speaking with Alan for a while and learing of the opening offer of the 3 bottles plus one collectors bottle, I decided to go for it, and order. I am out of spending money for the next month, but it was worth it. I ordered the opening offer around 2 or 3am on Jan 23. I was very happy with the service. The only suggestion I can say is, maybe if they can find a company that accepts American Express to process the orders. I dont care for Visa [which i had to use]. But that's in no way a big deal.

My package arrived today, 1/31. It acutally arrived in Hawaii yesterday, but took an extra day to make it to the nearest post office to me. So from order time to reciving time, it was about 7-8 days, which is not bad, considering it came half way around the world. I appreciate the package tracking very much! Where's my free spoon? spoon.gif Shall i look through the packing materials? harhar.gif

Over all the expirience was great with this new site. The high points for me are
Offering high quality Absinthe
Good Prices
Euros have a better US dollar exchange rate
Fast shipping
Friendly Service

I deffinatly will order from Absinthe-Suisse again. Im looking forward to other high quality Absinthes that they will carry.

Aloha!

Of course, I can't order because they probably won't ship to Canada...

I can't believe people still live up there.

And I thought you no longer wanted to live down there?

32 orders in two months. Playing a lot of Solitaire to pass the time in between are you Alan?

Perhaps that was Absinthesizer's 62nd personal order, and QuikSilver146's 94th!

I hear Sealand is up for auction.

Subtract "roller" from the title and you might be right...

Ha! A friend of a friend is called "Roller". I always thought that was his name, but it turns out it's more like a job title.

I wanted to do a side by side comparison of the La Clandestine Originale vs La Clandestine Originale Alcool de Vin so I've ordered both from Absinthe Suisse (and a Valote Martin to make a trio).
My very first order with Absinthe Suisse, let's see how it goes.
Good shipping price, and Paypal accepted, a real plus for me.
