So if this is _almost_ as good as Jade products, does this mean the Americans among us will soon stop to buy over the internet? On the other hand, if it is _really_ good, does it mean we Europeans now will order Absinthe from the US? wink.gif

Well, I have to assume that the "we" is american absinthe lovers, and "where" we are going is straight to the liquor store IF this stuff is even close to Jade quality. If it's real absinthe, and it seems that it truly will be "real" in the sense of having the correct constitutent herbs, and it can be had readily available and conveniently affordable, then why not? absintheglass-glow2.gif

I think this is a stunning development. I never expected to be able to walk into BevMo and pick up a bottle of absinthe, let alone absinthe made by Ted at Combier!

What I mean is there clearly can be found a continuum (sp) of quality and taste, even among distilled quality brands of absinthe, e.g. jade, VdF or BdF, the Duplais line and so forth. If Lucid is mid-range or better, then for 60 or 70 bucks it's a clearly better buy than spending 170 dollars on a bottle of Verte Suisse every two months or so. Even considering that a bottle of Duplais Balance, 500 ml size, can be had for about 90 dollars these days, who knows what's gonna happen to the exchange rate anymore? At the very least it's an alternative.

I couldn't stop grinning for an hour last night when I read the story. w00t2.gif

I like the drink recipes at the bottom of drinklucid.com.

.... Absinthe Minded: a shot of absinthe....Once absinthe is legal, it will soon be illegal again when a college kid who tried to do as many Absinthe Mindeds as possible, croaks on his own vomit.

Is Ted truly proud of this product or is this the cash-in segement of his career? Anyone heard? or has it been totally top secret?
