After listening to the messages again, I think I hear Wild Bill weeping in the background. He's also mumbling something about labor unions hating him.

No - that was all about the likelyhood of hate from absinthe syndicates.

Believe me, labour unions were the least of his worries (at least until the much milder Val de Travers climate had its soothing effects on people).

Uhm - wrong forum?

QUOTE(Spoon @ Jun 15 2007, 01:29 PM) *

What happens in Pontarlier, stays in Pontarlier.

Well, it seemed to tunnel into the Val de Travers as well (for at least the better part of an evening).

But it must've been something in the air in Pontarlier - it was hard to imagine the meek lambs at the Boveresse party had been hellraisers just a few days ago.

Mtuillhi even seemed to be compete with Ted for the Vulcan composure prize of the weekend (with the obligatory "I shall refuse to move a single muscle at the village party" exercise).

They all lost the Vulcan composure prize to Mrs. Helfrich, but they were too macho to take any notice.

Perhaps there's something to be said about bad music at parties. Music soothes the soul, but only really bad music soothes the savage beast?

And no, *I* am not going to make the mistake to post (to be continued) at the end of this post...

No wonder they didn't get there on time. What sick mind would think about fucking a plane and expect it to still fly you to your destination?

I almost forgot John was going to be there. There’s a guy with mad skills, that isn’t an arrogant prick. We could prolly all learn from him. Well, except Kirk.

I'm sure he'd almost forgotten it too, by the time he got there (or somewhere at least in the same country).

They managed to arrive after we'd left the bar and went back to the hotel, although that also says a lot about the fact we're all old farts (or at least, for those who usually aren't, turn into old farts after one night in Pontarlier).

The fact the plate isn't empty has nothing to do with the fact it was out of my reach (grrrr....).

First of all, I want to thank PierreVerte & Oxy for allowing me to join the party despite not knowing who the hell I was, & Mthuilli for making my hotel reservations. To everyone else, thanks for being so welcoming, & sharing the weekend with me; I had a blast!

There's a more detailed description of the 3 days I spent with Syndicate at http://dtaggert.livejournal.com (ead the entries for June 15 & 16)but here are some pics I didn't post there:

PierreVerte & Oxy at the 80's Disco. That's about how exciting it was.

At Le Scliat Friday night.

I'm in Amsterdam now, looking out my window at the Herengracht Canal & missing having people to laugh with. Thanks again everyone!

That was excellent! I even ate the vegetables (except for the twig with those little yellow flowers).

Looks very tasty, especially the wormwood. Was it added just before serving or cooked with lamb altogether?
