This is the third edition of the Absinthe Montmartre. All three editions will be merged into one product review at a later point to make it easier to see the full development and review time line of this product.

AVERAGE SCORE 53

Reviewed by absinthist 10/5/2009

COLOR BEFORE WATER 3/10
Very light green, too light, less green

LOUCHE ACTION 4/10
Proper, but weakish

COLOR AFTER WATER 5/10
Greenish, in the bluish direction.

AROMA 25/30
Christmas spices, mulled wine, it is a nice aroma, but of absinthe-no.

MOUTH-FEEL 5/10
velvety, crisp, liqueurish

TASTE 7/20
Very strongly pronounced spices, wormwood and the rest try to come over but spices shout too loudly.

OVERALL IMPRESSION 4/10
First batches were absinthe, that one is a nice Christmas punch liqueur. Not a salad dressing, but not an absinthe, either.

Not sure where, but I will put it here:

Absinthe Montmartre, 4th edition:

Reviewed by absinthist 3/1/2010

COLOR BEFORE WATER 4/10
Light green, but green nonetheless, not greatly coloured, but at least coloured

LOUCHE ACTION 5/10
slow and semi-transparent, better than in #3

COLOR AFTER WATER 5/10
Greenish and semi transparent

AROMA 25/30
Cinnamon, melissa, pontica, pleasant

MOUTH-FEEL 3/10
Spicy, gingerish, cinnamonic, I would say spicy cinnomaniac, interesting, but more to do with likkers than absinthe

TASTE 5/20
Again, spiciness all the rage, no bitterness, no anisiness, just one permanent note of Christmas spices

OVERALL IMPRESSION 2/10
Looks like the 3rd edition was still acceptable as an almost absinthe variety, that one does not deserve a title of substitute even

absinthist scores absinthe Montmartre #4 49 out of 100
