So much fuss over a bottle of old booze.

Perhaps absinthe really does cause madness.

I hope that anyone lucky enough to find & want to sell another bottle from Tut's cellar thinks twice about approaching Wormwood Society with the find. Unless that is, they want to send the bottle to an organization doesn’t have the funds to pay upfront nor will guarantee what the final price to the seller will be.

Better to put the bottle on ebay and set the reserve at what they feel comfortable and let the free market dictate the fair value.

Sage financial advice.

Now to the nitty-gritty.

How about a review.

Back in 2010 when this thread started, there was a discussion about the yellow wax seal of the PF White (left). Here is a wax seal of a similar color on a bottle of Pernod Fils 1913 (right) for comparison.

Thanks for posting that pic. Interesting that the font is different, do you know if there is a photo of the label as well?

It didn't have a label. I think the font is the same, the seal of the PF White is just a lot closer to the cam. Unfortunately we can't check it anymore as the seal of the PF 1913 is broken - we drunk the bottle.

Good enough for me.

we drunk the bottle

That's the best part. I suspect a similar fate is in store for that King Tut White.
