Looking forward to meeting you, Marcelo, but next time you must arrive in time for the fondue party on Friday night!

Yeah -- the pre-party at CAB's distillery and the fondue party (and usual after-party) are actually the real fête wink.gif.

Indeed!™ But looking at the cam, the party has died. Or the angle is wrong.

Waddya mean? The distillery is packed. (It's also uncanny to realise that you can recognize Mthuilli even when he stands at the back and fills only a few pixels with lots of artefacts, just by the way he stands and moves).

But he's moved to the front now. Wearing black, "for a change".

I have recognized Marc and a few others. Some time ago, it was just a group of unknown people in the middle. Have you seen the absinthe bongs? They were in the middle, too.

For a change-Ha!

but they seem to be leaving. Last year, we were leaving almost at the same time, too.

I am sure there will be pics. The fact I am not there, doesn't mean I am not there.

I need a few days without alcohol.

I think I need a petite bleue now, before hitting the bed.

Great time again.

Mgs, sorry we didn't meet on Saturday.

I finally found some time to write about my experience in Boveresse. I drove through the Jura mountains, from Belfort in France to Boveresse in Switzerland….. I am really happy that I rented a GPS, it would be impossible to drive in those small roads, throughs cities and arrive there without that wonderful device…. And I came back very late, it was very dark, low clouds and the GPS helped me a lot to start driving at 11:00 pm back home.

I visited the stands in the city, but it is a small local event, in two hours you see the whole Boveresse…. Then I was walking and quickly recognized Alan. I shouted by his name and told my name and very soon I met Jen, her husband and many other people (one advantage of using a real pic in the forum is for this first time we meet people).

I had a wonderful experience that I will never forget. We went to walk in the forest and stopped in a wood box. There was an absinthe bottle, a glass and a notebook to leave something written. We can drink the absinthe, louching it in the natural water coming down the mountain…. beautiful… I recorded a video of louching and want to post, maybe I will add to youtube and send the link here. After that we saw some fields of wormwood and other herbs. There was a guy from Netherlands (forgot his name) who wants to start producing absinthe, and knew all about it….. Alan is a superb-supernice-guy…. he took us all around……

I went to the distillery of La Clandestine and tried La Capricieuse…. In addition I tried Angélique…. it is a very interesting absinthe that does not have anis taste, with a little bitter end… I tried it louched, then I tried it with equal part of water (so it is not louched, and taste a very different drink), then Claude gave us a frozen Angelique with some water, we take a small sip, hold it in the tongue for 5 to 10 seconds and then swallow in one shot, it is a very interesting experience…

After all these we went to a nice restaurant in the mountain. I met Peter from LogisticX who had many people with him…. We ate well, but I did not drink much, because I was going to drive back….. THere was a very interesting dessert, a kind of ice cream cake with absinthe and they put fire to melt the cake….. Don't remember the French name for that…

So, I will be posting pictures somewhere (I am not all familiar with how to post pictures and link to forums like this, but will find out). THe vide of louching absinthe in the runnig water of a mountain and the desserta with absinthe I will put on youtube this week and send to you.

It was really really a nice experience. I had fun and met very interesting people. I even met a Brazilian who has a bar in Tokyo and came to this event because they have absinthe in Tokyo….

Cheers,

- Marcelo

Although "facebook" and "privacy" do not impress me as the most compatible terms, in this case it's enough to bar my access.
