I was crawling the Internets a bit today about news on absinthe and "stumbled" on this:
http://www.thespiritsbusiness.com/2012/09/…out-absinthe/3/
.. where Guillaume Pétavy Meynier, international brand development manager at Pernod Ricard, sort of brags (?) about Pernod Ricard taking a leading role in Europe (at least) when it comes to education and promotion of proper absinthe and how to drink it.

Isn't there something "wrong" here? Or am I perhaps an ignorant s-o-b who doesn't understand the good intentions of Pernod Ricard and the value of modern Pernod Absinthe as a represention of tradition and proper absinthe production? (I could understand the value of having a strong market leader when promoting absinthe, but shouldn't Pernod Ricard make their own stuff genuine first, before telling us about what absinthe is and what it isn't?)

(I've got to try their "stuff" before judgement day though.)

If you do, that day and judgement day may well coincide.

Well. I'm a sucker for SFX and I guess Judgement Day will bring some goodies in that respect.

Being blasted on Pernod (or whatever) will probably highten my susceptibility (as long as I'm not too blasted of course).

Chinese labor. Prison labor. The military saves where they can.

True that uniforms are made with prison labor -- bomb parts too.

Somehow appropriate considering we have high unemployment combined with the largest percent
of our population in prison than any country -- ever.

That said, I think the Pernod design would be an improvement.

Maybe a Hawaiian shirt too.

But… but… You can't purify water with a camouflage dress, and probably french troops wouldn't even use Pernod Absynth either for that… So I'd say this is no good at all (at least for the troops). wink.gif

At least the bottle looks good, UV-resistant and all.
