And we all know how well these predictions work out.

I don't like the looks of those guys in the flying saucer; they look like Men in Black to me.
It reminds me of the guys in the helicopter buzzing Kirk in his herb garden.

Low enough altitude. and it can be registered as a ship! I want one. I hate the sound of helipockters.

I don't know about all of them, but those Hueys you see in all the Vietnam films aren't exactly a cushy ride - the noise and vibration are hellacious, not to mention the stench of the exhaust. The best thing about them is they make you feel pleased to be back on the ground alive.

The guys in the flying saucerette are more likely off to drink a whiskey and meet their mistresses. The neanderthal standing on the modified lawn mower worries me more. If he buzzes your field you'd have nothing left.

When I got out of high school I and a wizard named Rob Colee started a business called Interplanetary Trading Company, a Division of the White light magic show. We had a shop down town and a house in the ghetto, Rob sunk every penny of his money into marine plywood and hardware, he was building a flying saucer in the back yard and swore it would take him away, we were all amused, when he finished with the hull he put fold out counter tops on each side and a trailer hitch to the front, painted it silver and off he went, him and a hunch back chick towed it to Fla and sold bead work , scratch built electronics out of it.

Well, if it couldn't take him away at least he took it away. Reminds of the guy in Ghost Dog, building a sailboat on a roof top.

Oh Mr. Noah! Oh Mr. Noah!
May I please take a ride on the ark of the Lord,
cause it's getting mighty dark and gonna rain mighty hard ...
Oh no you can't sir. Oh no you can't sir.
No you may not ride on the ark of the Lord,
though it's getting mighty dark and gonna rain mighty hard ...
Well go to the devil sir. Well go to the devil sir.
You may go to the devil with your damned old scow
cause you know damned well it won't rain any how ...
Well listen young fella. Well listen young fella.
That's the bluff of your life cause you know damned well
it's sprinkling now, gonna rain like hell
(Dave Van Ronk)

The saucer at the top turned out like this:

As long as a heli is vibrating and making noise you know it's still flying, but I have to confess, you never forget your first love. harhar.gif

Indeed. All my experience on one was in training, practicing getting rescued. Who knew that a rescue cable could shock the piss out of you with a static charge? I wonder if anybody has ever forgotten that little detail, managed to avoid catching bullets, only to be laid low by common everyday electricity.
