Greetings to all - - -

I'm a booze fueled, low-performance machine. Absinthe has been my close friend for about a decade now - and I've had my fair share of the bad and the good.

I would love to attend one of the absinthe festivals coming up next year, perhaps dovetailed with a visit to the wife's family if possible. Research is required in this regard . . .

Looking to collaborate with like minds.

Thanks for your attention - - -

~lb

Greetings.
All the fiestas are in foreign countries.
I've only been to unsanctioned events myself.
Is your wife French?

We have our own smaller events in this region ourselves - great way to meet new people and share stories, music, etc . . .

My wife is from Fethiye in southern Turkey, where we visit (in the summer) with our children. I can easily grab some easy flights to Europe "proper" once on-site. We usually stay for a month - so a quick trip to Boveresse would be in order, providing we're there in June. We could easily leave the kids w/her family for a few days! I hope things settle down politically in Turkey though - it's been making me nervous.

That aside - I've tried (probably) 50 different absinthes over the years - settling on a few favorites for perhaps a decade now. This, and the occasional cigarette - are my only vices of late. My favorite color is black, and I compose music for a living - - - LOL.

Take care.

PS: I'll be in New Orleans come early summer 2014 for a visit with the fam - love that city. My wife has never been there -

LOL? Is it laughable music or listenable music? LOL goes down here like fingernails on a blackboard. Just saying.
Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans, but that's late summer (by the calendar anyway, more like midsummer in New Orleans), and it hasn't much to do with absinthe.
There are some veterans of the cowbell festival here, even more at the French forum (same admin as this forum).

My take is that composing music provides a living which is laughable. But then someone would have to comp him absinthe and plane tickets, so maybe not.

Laughable in some sense of the word: mostly instrumental support for radio/television: advertising, PBS stuff - corporate AV . . . with a final goal being motion pictures. It's not what I imagined myself doing - but it pays the bills and affords me free time. With my work at home: nothing beats the daily commute (in my underwear/sunglasses) to the studio upstairs with pour in hand. I can provide links to those interested - - -

Enjoy the weekend.

Lowestbuddha seems like a decent sort, so I tried to find a clever but more or less polite segue into "LOL is het.gif " here.
No intent to demean his livelihood or his ability.

Absinthe has been my close friend
Funny how she does that. Works her way in innocently enough, with her charm and all. Then, before you know it, becomes your mistress.

Nice to meet ya.

Greetings LB

Tales is quite a boozefest™ and there are some absinthe brands represented, and several fun people to hang out with, including a number that are longtime residents of this joint.

Welcome!

Aside from avoiding of acronyms like "LOL," quoting the previous post is unnecessary and ill considered here.

Welcome to the fray L.B..
In your opinion, what is the best modern absinthe you've ever tasted, and what is your favorite absinthe?
What was your first?
