Three stages. It still needs a few finishing touches.

That's just beautiful Gertz! Really. It's lovely.
But, why did you cover her up!?!?

Seriously… Me love it.
Hmmmm. Is it for sale?
Gordon
Well yea, but she kinda looks depressed. I thought drinking was supposed to make you happy. There you go , I see a smile
Kirk
Another nice work Gertz!

Actually, it has already been sold; my cousin wants it for his wine shop.

I'm sure she's not the last one of her kind, though. Degrees of covering up might vary, too.

I had the privilege of seeing Gertz's works (piles of canvasses which put my artistic family to shame), and they are pretty amazing.
Kirk
I was able to obtain one of Gertz' paintings and have enjoyed it very much.
The Standard Deviant
I actually really like the idea of painting layers underneath of what would actually be there, but which will never be seen. True art!
jmfranc
I really like this image. I wish I could see it in person. I noticed that the slots on the spoon are now gone. Was it intentional? Distracting?
The Standard Deviant
They probably allowed the absinthe to escape.
Stroller
That is a great painting! I wish I had talent like that.

The slots are back now. The last photo is taken just before a very few finishing touches, such as re-adding that detail, established in the underpainting, then painted over (but still visible through the layers when looking carefully).

Passepartoute
I like it very much. Is the water decanter Pernod?
Gertz
The decanter is a no-brand-name, made up from fantasy. I have since then found a real one that looks a bit like it.

That must be scratch-n-lick, then.
celticgent
no.

regardless of the scratch-n-sniffiness, i'd bet her boobies taste oily.
