Let me preface this posting by saying that I haven't been on the site in quite some time. That doesn't mean, however, that I refrained from indulging in our favorite drink. However, this post, as evidenced by the title above, has nothing to do w/ la fee verte. I recall several strands I'd participated in months ago regarding pipe and cigar smoking. Recently I've been looking to purchase a few boxes of my favorite cigars, as my girlfriend (i think i've finally found a keeper) bought me a 100 count humidor. I was wondering if any members could point me towards websites which may offer the following makes at low prices. I'd really appreciate any advice the forum could give me.

Thanks for any advice!

If you scroll down a bit in this section of the forum you will find my topic about ordering Cubans from Spiritscorner. Actually, this site is cheaper, the link is in this topic

"Google Muthafucka. Do you use it."

Yes. I do use it. I have used it. It returns hundreds of results. When I was a regular on here months ago, I remember several members being especially knowledgeable regarding tobacco, so i thought I'd give the forum a try. Responses like "Google Muthafucka. Do you use it," are part of the reason I began to shy away from this forum. If anyone has any RECOMENDATIONS for me, I'd appreciate it. Badger, I appreciate the direction.

well, Mr. Whineypants,

let me splain it better.

it has nothing to do with being "knowledgeable regarding tobacco"

your question is about pricing, not tobacco.

much like absinthe, different brands cost different prices on different websites.

so let's say that you wanted to buy a bottle each of Sirpiss, TRUL, King Of Spurts, Gay Frank, etc…

each website is going to charge a different price for each brand, some might be higher priced on one, some might be higher priced on another..

so asking for one website that has them all cheap generally does not work.

so what you're asking is for numerous websites, showing the cheapest price for each brand.

google it, bitch.

don't make other people do your research for you.

that's just lazy.
sepia5
According to your line of reasoning, we might as well not ask questions regarding matters of taste either - just taste absinthe, cigars, beer, etc. and determine what "tastes good" yourself. Asking others is just lazy. And we might as well not ask questions regarding quality of service - order for yourself, find out how the service is, and stop being so lazy!

I don't know why i'm wasting my time responding to postings like yours, and i'm feeling childish as I type, so i'll just drop it.

I've never bought cigars online, and was looking to do so. I was just hoping someone could give me some direction - to a site with good prices, good service, and good selection. I have "Googled" it, and I have some options, but i was hoping someone w/ more experience than myself might chime in with advice, rather cutting remarks.
celticgent
asking somebody their opinion, such as 'how do you think this tastes'

is different than

'can you search online and find the best price for this particular item, because i'm too lazy to do it'

again, you did NOT ask for "the best service", you asked for the cheapest price, which has nothing to do with OPINION.

if you had asked "does anybody here know of a reputable source that you use frequently and could recommend",

instead of

"hey, i'm too lazy to search different websites for good pricing, so please do it for me"

then you most likely would have received a less 'cutting response' from me.

but then again, it's that time of month for me, so maybe not.

It sure would have taken a lot less effort to kindly direct him/her on his/her way.

no shit, sherlock.

it's also easier to just buy your children drugs.

but it's a lot better for them in the long run if you teach them how to score on their own.

Not only are there a bazillion websites that sell cigars, there are quite a few websites that rate the websites that sell cigars. The searcher should concentrate on those.

It's true that a given vendor will have better prices on some brands, but not all brands. Some brands can't be found at all on some websites.

Celticgent may have been a tad harsh, but it's asking too much to give a list of cigars and ask forum members to research the optimum vendor for each one. And research is what they'd have to do, because it's not going to be the same vendor for all the cigars, and nobody here by sheer chance is going to smoke THOSE cigars and know where the best place is to get each of them, I'm pretty sure.

For what it's worth, I've been happy with:

Phatash
Cigar Express

The level of personal service from those is unexcelled in my experience. Their prices are competitive.

Geez. In retrospect, I guess I should have articulated my question a bit better than i did, but i never expected to be reprimanded for waisting the valuable time of other forum members (though, if this is a concern, why take the time to write long, drawn out scoldings, which in-and-of themselves are a waste of time?). I was not looking for others to sit down and spend hours researching on my behalf in an attempt to find the one site that offered all the cigars i was looking for at the lowest price in the galaxy. I realize there are several knowledgeable smokers in this forum (far more knowledgeable than myself), and I thought I might find one or two that smoked, on a regular basis, one or more of the lines i listed - these people, my thought process continued, may be in a unique position to offer recommendations as to where I should shop.

I did, in fact, spend two nights "Googling" various search terms, and found several great sites including JRCigars, Rocky's Cigars, Famous-Smoke, etc., as well as some auction sites, which i had no idea even existed. My point is, i spent time researching, and, for example, never came across Phatash, as recommended in the previous post. I suppose that is testament to the massive amount of sites that are actually out there, and hence provides at least some justification for the posing of my initial question, inarticulate though it may have been.

One thing that has always killed me about this forum is that the members who will so quickly and intensely cut down another's post when they feel that the questions or comments posed within are stupid, misplaced, irrelevant and ultimately "unduly wasteful to the forum's time," ironically seem to waste the forum's time by creating a post that does nothing more than proclaim the intial post was wasteful. If you don't have anything constructive to add to a thread, why respond at all?
celticgent
because we're all sad, ugly, bored, boring indivuduals.

it's more fun to cut people down than pick them up off of the ground.

at least here on the interweb.

for once, i will give a straight answer…..

do you like to dance?

some of us love it.
Donnie Darko
Yeah, and we can get away with being obstinate belligerent souses online, whereas if we behaved this way in real life, it would probably get us shot.

So to summarize, go fuck yourself (no offense intended), and good luck finding cigars. Those places Artemis listed are good.
Donnie Darko
My father in law orders from these guys: Atlanticcigar.com

They're about $20 cheaper than everybody else, and he's a cheap bastard so I was skeptical, but I've had a few of their cigars and they're very good, and it looks like they carry what you're looking for.
Artemis
Come on now, I did provide some useful information along with the constructive criticism.

Phatash is the best I've found for Acid and the other Drew Estate cigars, which tend to be way expensive for what they are (perfumed cigars). They have outlets, I think, in Chicago and New York. You have to choose the one most suitable for your tax situation.

Cigar Express, you can call, talk to a real person, and she will go back into the warehouse and personally check the stock to ensure they have what you want. And they have Carbonell, a sweet (without additives) Dominican cigar which is hard to find elsewhere. Phatash also has people you can talk to to ensure your satisfaction.

2Guys isn't bad, either. They have some good special buys and they will also talk you through your preferences.

JR seems to be well regarded on the cigar Usenet groups, where people congratulate themselves on having received a catalog (apparently it's hit or miss whether they send you one for the asking or not - I asked, they never sent one - they can kiss my ass - see above about personal service).
sepia5
Thanks guys! I appreciate the advice. I also appreciate the honesty -- at least we know we're all being assholes here. Well, as long as we're being honest, I'm off to check out some of these sites, then to masterbate to highspeed internet porn. Good luck all!
Head_prosthesis
Ha! Now you're getting the hang of it.

I've always ordered from http://secure.thompsoncigar.com/default.as…19056&att=19943
They carry Avo, CAO and Fuente.
Lord Stanley
I thought that the original question sounded reasonable.
Too bad for him that I don't know a damn thing about cigars.
Artemis
I would avoid Thompsons. They have occasional specials on assortments at very good prices, but they make up for it by overpricing their boxes by an outrageous amount. Just shop around and you can do much better.
zachM
Ive ordered from thompsons in the past and they have good service but are far from cheap. I like knoxcigar.com but they arent cheap either. I ordered from neptune cigar once and they have good service and I think they were cheap. I order my cigars from cigarone.com. They dont carry the brands that were mentioned in the post but given the post is months old what the hell does it matter. But if you live in the U.S. and want to get some cubans I highly reccommend them. I have never had a package seized from them. The swiss are just very clever about these things. I just cant see how customs could seize the package anyway. There is no proof that they come from Cuba and the papers indicate they didnt. Also they lie about how much you paid for them. THe invoice in the box claims around $20. In a seperate parcel you will recieve your labels and bands. Now you could say they send something different from what they claim but Ive ordered from them and a place in spain for comparison and I cant tell the difference. their prices were cheaper than those of spain once you calculated the shipping. So I reccommend them.
Breson
I am only interested in Contraband Cigars.

Good site with fast safe shipping.
justabob
Ditto, the only place to buy cubans in the us.
zachM
I must say their prices are very low if I am right that it includes shipping. What is fast shipping time? 3 or 4 days?
justabob
Five to ten working days from New Zealand.
Fredie
I disagree with Celtic's method of telling you but I have a question that's a bit more shocking to me....
You live in St.Petes? and you're asking a Cigar Question?!!?

Dude, two words..... YBOR CITY
Dahman
for non-cubans there are several good sites.

www.cigarbid.com - basically cigar auction where you can get good cigars for a really cheap price

www.famous-smoke.com - good specials and prices

I'm not too sure where to get contraband from, too many websites and it costs too much to find out if they're real or not
Jaded Prole
Finespiritscorner has Cuban cigars.
justabob
Yep, I recenlty ordered from fsc cuz my regular guy was out of my brand. I was very pleased , regular mail in about ten days.
whizz
Nice service and usually "instant" deliveries from Lynn's Cigars
