I've been doing alot of reading here the last few days, and I don't understand some things. One is, often times there are numerous "blank" posts in a thread, most of the time with posts after them that refer to the blank post LARS!.gif as if it had information in it. Something wrong with my monitor? Just kidding. Why is that the case though?

If we told you we'd have to kill you..... evill.gif

I think so. Like in the thread about the new Blanchette from Jade, lots of TAbreaux posts are blank.

The more formal version around here is ... ™.

But what if the whole post is blank, i.e. is clearly not a "quote" box, even if it does have the three little periods? Have they been censored?

I don't notice any Tabreaux posts blank in the Blanchette thread.

But to answer your question, the three dots mean that that someone has gone back and deleted their post, usually because they regret or are embarrassed by what they initially said. We actively discourage people from doing this.

We don't censor posts at all, except in the following circumstances:
1. Where they reveal the true identity or address of a member (unless the member is happy to condone this).
2. Where they encourage or discuss clearly illegal activities.
3. If they are grotesquely obscene or insulting.

In practice, this means less than a handful of posts a year.

Of course, another reason to ...™ is when someone else's post either leaves you speechless, or when you explicitly want to say "no comment". Imagine the sound of chirping crickets on the background.

Unless you're Dr. O.
Then all bets are off.
