Hello!

Could any of the knowledgable crowd here tell me about this spoon?
I posted on the Collectors' Forum, though i havn't had much response.

Its the same as one in Oxygenee's post:

Ahh, yes the elusive plastic Pernod spoon. Still elusive, still plastic.
I still don't know any more about it than I did back then.
Provenance
Because virtually all such spoons are in the hands of a few wealthy collectors.
elliott83
I've just noticed that the link doesn't work.

This should.

Anyways, are you guys pulling my leg, or is it really a rare spoon? As i'm new here i can't tell if your joking or serious!
Wild Bill Turkey
Nothing you could do or say would tempt me to pull your leg.

The spoon is very rare and very collectible.
G&C
If you can believe WBT.
crosby
Pernod ripped off Head.

That is awesome! Never seen it before, but very cool (in a novelty sort of way). Vintage ones are no doubt rare, but I would think someone here would be making and selling replicas. Plastic is pretty easy to mold.

Thats what i thought. Very easy to mold.

Then you'd have a plastic absinthe spoon. And it couldn't say Pernod.

It kinda misses something not being one of only a handful of throwaway plastic publicity spoons to survive like new after forty years.
Kirk
I do a little plastic injection in my shop, maybe I should run a batch.

My point being that if it were of some value, then surely someone would have knocked some up and offered them as "genuine" on evilBay.
The Standard Deviant
Where did you find it?
scaper8
Antiques have never been my thing, so I don't really care if it is or is not an original, I'd just like one to have and add to may (meager but growing) collection.
Tibro
An assortment of reproductions is not properly a collection. It's more like what cha got. Although it may be of interest to you, a real collector does care if it's original.
scaper8
Then you have my full permission to not call me a collector.

It was a British find. The seller described it as a "zester - for grating lemon zest into your drink", i nodded assuringly, saying "of course, how interesting"!
Wild Bill Turkey
Nicely done. I wish I had it.

I used to design and build electronic devices, but nowadays I am only a transistor collector.

Le Gimp
I got some metal tophat 2N2222As (not those cheap plastic TO-92 knock offs).

So take off that hat, poser, it looks out of place on a mouth breather, anyway.
scaper8
A) Yes, I am a poser, and I don't have a problem with that.

B) I don't care one way or the other for antiques, but things that are make today that are replicas of things that were made past are my cup of tea.

And C) How in that hell did you know I breath through my mouth? Spy cameras?

Believe it, or not, I could tell simply from reading many of your posts.

Call me Claire Voyant, everybody does.
