Interesting indeed. Gin Daisy has an ingredient Cusenier Grenadine—could it be that Cusenier? Syrup manufacturer as well as absinthe?

Yes - Cusenier did a LOT more than absinthe. Anything from that Grenadine to Cognac a just about anyting in between.
