"The sugar cube was devised to cover up horrible flavors in really poorly made absinthe," says Winters. "If a spirit is distilled well you don't need to add sugar to be able to drink it."
absinthist
OMFG! The Apocalypse is not just in the werdz. It is right here and now.
Tibro
Yeah, but what does he have to say about salad dressings, huh?
absinthist
Agreed. Lance, unlike some other people, will have a theory. O tempora, o mores!
Absomphe
I thought the sugar cube was invented as a viable alternative to blotter paper.
Provenance
No, it's because preban acid was bitter.
Jaded Prole
St George is more likely to benefit from a garlic clove.
Provenance
Perhaps if they tried making absinthe….
Jaded Prole
What a novel idea! That would require admitting that you don't know everything and learning from others who are more than willing to help.

You can only buy acid-free paper these days.

I still can't believe that was the result after such consulation.
G&C
Some people just won't listen.
speedle
Especially when there's money to be made at the rate they're selling bottles.
Absomphe
True dat.

You could probably rectify horse piss, mascerate any mishmash of herbs in it, bottle the stuff, and label it 'Murican Made Absinthe, and a trendoid segment of the general public would still be all over a limited run, or three, like white on an albino.

Sad, innit?
Steyr850
Hopefully Lance is tuned in with the forums,
and in touch still with his advisors.
Redemption.

I dunno, Johnny and Edgar did okay for themselves.
Tibro
Singing the blues.
Provenance
You didn't need to include the word rectify.
Absomphe
True, but I was trying added a dash of authenticity.
